Peddler's Hustle is a fast-paced survival and strategy game where you play as a street vendor trying to make ends meet in a bustling city. After losing your home to a ruthless debt collector, the loop is that you must restock goods, shout to attract customers, and sell items to earn coins and reputation.

This is a solid 1st jam entry.
There isn't much to do, and the win condition wasn't coded; but it is not a bug riddled pile of inconsistent garbage.
There is plenty of nice and consistent pixel art; and I didn't encounter any bugs.
:)

My advice for next time would be: try to scope smaller, and focus more on the mechanic first.
This game felt like you started with the idea of "buy/sell loop", and then built up a little world and a backstory around a trader, before finally settling how buying and trading would work as a game mechanic.
I highly doubt you started with "we need to hit space on something spinning around a circle" and then built the peddling stuff around that.
:P

We start painting 80% of the time and doing pixel arts, then panics on the last hour. ahaha nice catch

Great idea, keep trying.

Nice effort! Would’ve loved it more if the character moved a little faster :) I think expanding the selling and bargaining mechanics could really elevate the gameplay.

The pixel art and atmosphere were on point, super cozy vibes, the gameplay loop is simple and smooth, but I was hoping for a bit more variety or decisions to keep it more engaging . Still, it’s a solid concept with great visuals with a few extra layers, it could really shine!

Developer

Here I done yours too pretty solid but some stages should be higher meaning last stage should be a bit more harder.

The pixel art is amazing! Such a great atmosphere in general.

The gameplay is a simple, yet effective loop. Really loved the visuals paired up with the gameplay. Feels really chill & fast paced at the same time haha.

One small suggestion is to add another factor to the game---currently the game doesn't have much factors to decide and feels a bit easy. In addition, I don' t really know the win condition: I played until the reputation meter is full but nothing really happened. However, this game has a really nice mechanic paired up with visual arts!

Great job!

We forgot to put the winning condition and the coin penalty. thank you so much to play it till the full reputation!!!

Nice little game but I think it would be even better if the player was moving faster and there was more mechanics

Submitted(+1)

A cute little game but it feels like its missing a lot of its core mechanics. Very pretty though!

Works nice like a prototype for future game! Good job

Nice little game in terms of mechanics! Not sure, what is the main goal of the game, but there is a possibility of the growth! Well done!

Submitted(+1)

Cool idea!  You could definitely expand on it.  The pixel art is really nice!

I really love the idea of

Theme connection isn't really there
The gameplay is simple but not very fun tbh
If there were more ways to sell items or earn money it could've been better

Shouting simulator XD.
Beyond that, it's a pretty simple concept. It works fine as a game, but the theme connection didn’t really come through for me. Pushing that a bit more could make it hit harder.

I'm a professional at shouting at people

cute idea, art is very nice! wish i could see my precious wares im selling haha

Developer

We forgot to put them in XX

Pretty fun gameplay loop, one thing i'd improve upon is the walk speed, as it felt sluggish to go back and forth over and over again after a point. Generally fun though!

Developer

It was meant to be added but we prio the art more and bail them last hour XX

Submitted(+1)

neat lil game, would love more complexity on the selling to make it more difficult and a bit more to do!

Submitted(+1)

Cool little game! I would have loved if the shouting minigame had all the things you wanted to sell sequenced so you didn't have to hit a button between each one. Would make the game flow much better I think.

This makes sense why did I didn't think of that lol. maybe I should add a combo sale too. great find vro

I like the animation for the target area, good way to draw attention. I wish the walking speed could be a tad faster, not sure if I missed the instruction to sprint lol. I like the environment design nice and filled out. I like the concept for the barganing. I thought the restock meant I could spam to get more, didn’t realize I was just burning through my coins lol. I think reducing the walking distance between the restock and the peddling part could have helped the pacing a bit. Overall a pretty neat game. Good job!
