How is this game a platformer, what spin does it bring to the genre?
It's a platformer in reverse! Rather than moving the character, you move the platforms.
How does this game fit the theme?
It's a reverse of the usual formula: you move the objects instead of the character.
What did you make yourself and what assets did you use?
The brown ground tiles and the slime character are from the Brackeys Platformer pack.
Did you use any AI assets in this game?
No

cool take on the theme, there's some improvement to be made on the ui and placing blocks (a little tedious sometimes) but it's quite fun!
Everything from clicking and moving the platforms to thinking about how to transport the slime to the flag is extremely fascinating! I love the way you designed every level and the difficulty of each stage. Also, it was very entertaining how your game had a lot of freedom for the player like how you can use every platform provided in the level or (if you're fast enough) drag the same bounce pad right below the slime as it jumps.
This is one of the best games I've played on itch.io (and I've played a lot of games here)
Also, Brackeys is goated :)
That’s really nice of you!! I’m glad you enjoyed it
Super fun game! I really like all the different mechanics especially the super fast arrows and the gravity changing block, they lead to some really fun level design. Idk if it was intended to move blocks around after the player had already used them, but it lead to some super fun solutions. Awesome work!
that’s intended! I was trying to make a bit of a sandbox so I didn’t want to limit any possible solutions.
A cute little game with a nice twist on the theme. A nice touch that the character re-spawns so frequently. Only real hiccup I noticed was that the in-game music continues when going back to the title screen, overlapping the music on the title screen. I also noticed the issue with not being able to quit the sandbox mode. All-in-all it is a nice game that plays well!
Great game! I thought it was fun, but I got blocked in level 9 due to the collisions maybe not working as expected on the springboard? Thanks for making and sharing your game!
I put level 8 before 9 to teach you how to use the jump pad—it applies an upward force, so if you’re already moving downward quickly, it won’t move you up fast enough to move along.
Game is great, also basically has level editor.
Hey it's a pretty fun game though sometimes the player is a bit glitchy like when he falls onto a stone block he just stops moving and i think as well the tile placement is a bit annoying as it always goes one tile above from where you actually wanted to place it. But art and music is good! Got to level 17.
also check out my game if you want! let me know if its too confusing to play or not
Hmm that could be because it’s entirely physics-based. The character’s velocity is the only thing that determines where it’s going, so if it’s harshly reset by an unmoving surface it would reset to 0.
Hi! I think I might not just be dumb, But the game does not work! I am stuck in sandbox mode as soon as I start the game... I can't play the actual game. The buttons don't work as well...
What do you mean stuck? I tested on a few devices (Microsoft Edge and Safari) and I’m not able to replicate the issue. The only input device is mouse, but you should be able to at least hit the quit button to return to the Title screen.
I really enjoyed this a lot and it was really fun however most of the puzzles can be solved by grabbing a bouncy block with your mouse and putting it under the character and following along with it, so I recommend not doing that. Also having a visual grid would also help a lot with placing blocks but overall a great experience
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the heads up! I just updated the game so the objects no longer collide with the character while they're being moved.
