I liked the game! I'm not really into this genre but I enjoyed this one.

Really enjoyed the experience! My memory isn’t the best, but I managed to win haha

I think adding some white noise or ambient sounds could make things feel even tenser. Also noticed a few anomalies spawning several times in a row, which made them a bit easier to spot

Loved the aesthetics, excellent work!

This game also reminded me of The Exit 8 — I really enjoyed the art style, it’s very interesting and I liked it a lot. I didn’t seem to hear much in terms of sound effects though — maybe I missed how to turn them on? Also, I wasn’t quite sure how to mark anomalies — is it just by walking past them, or is there a way to actively mark them? Still, a very intriguing walking simulator!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear you enjoyed the art. You handle anomalies in this game the same way as Exit 8, you walk forwards if there’s no anomalies, and turn back if there are some. There is no way to mark them.

Loved playing this one! I don't know if you've tried our submission, Loop Protocol, but we went with a looping anomaly-spotting theme too! Your transition to the next loops were incredible as you will hear me say a couple of times in the video. Great work!
Developer

Thanks you so much for playing! It’s really cool to see another player’s POV of the game. I’ve been a bit busy lately so I haven’t had a chance to play yours yet, but I will definitely check it out.

The low resolution, whether intentional or not, actually adds to the vibe of this game. All the game is missing are some more eventful anomalies and some sound ambience, and it would be a perfect spot the difference game (there might be some spooky eventful anomalies, although I beat it in my first try, so I didn't find it)

Great vibe, the aesthetic was executed really well!

very solid game! As some others said, the ambient noise could use a boost, as it takes the game up a notch. All the anomalies for the most part were easy to catch, even with the game being a lower resolution (which looked nice too). I read around that you spent a lot of time modeling and I could definitely tell lol. But yea everything was solid, sounds are a bummer, great modeling

Thanks for the feedback

Glad to hear, thanks

Amazing take on this theme! I had a really fun time spotting all the different anomalies, I found the silence super unnerving too. Great art style, only small critic is I wish it has fullscreen.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed it, and the no full screen thing is intentional. The game runs at like 10 FPS on my machine in full screen, the sheer amount of vertices in the level is too much for WebGL.

Fun fact, that’s why the game is pixelated, without that it would run at 20 FPS non full screened

It took me an embarrassingly long time to notice the panels missing on the wall LOL! Really well made mechanic (though I know it's an existing idea), didn't notice any performance issues, there is some atmospheric audio? (maybe I'm going insane from not sleeping) but it's really not enough, adding a fluorescent light buzz would knock the ambience up a huge notch! I honestly got spooked by the statue originally but was a little disappointed that on second playthrough it didn't kill me (I don't know why but I really wanted to see a jumpscare). Presentation outside of audio is top notch.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, and yea there is no audio, unfortunately ran out of time to add that. I originally wanted to make the statue kill you if you touch it, but also ran out of time to do so. I really shouldn’t have spent so much time modelling :(

This was actually my first game of this style and it was pretty fun! Game looks very nice as well, very consistant quality throughout! No audio is a bummer in an atmospheric game.

Good job, had no significant performance issues.

Thanks, I hope this was a good intro to this genre, tho I will say usually there’s a bit more interactivity with these kinds of games. Like in Exit 8, you have to run away from water in a flooding level.

Actually, I should’ve added weeping angel mechanics to the statue, that would’ve been really cool. Something to consider for the future.

Also yea, audio was definitely something I wanted to add, but just kinda ran out of time for unfortunately.

Developer

Thanks, glad to hear you liked it. Yea, the lag spikes are quite unfortunate

I liked this anomaly game, it has good amount of item that I actually could remember. Every corner I wan expecting a jumpscare, it was very scary :D Very nicely executed!

Not bad. The anomalies were very easy to spot (with one exception) and didn't seem to incorporate the details of the hallway except for the first table being overturned.

Anomalies I found:

  • Blood on floor before 2nd-door-on-left of door-set-2
  • 1st table knocked over with paper on floor
  • Blade and blood on floor after door-set-2
  • Entity floating at door-set-2 with blood on floor and 2nd-door-on-left and 2nd-door-on-right of door-set-2
  • Hallway blocked by boxes, garbage, and paper

There was one anomaly I couldn't find that sent me back to level 0 a few times. I never figured out what it was.

Recommendations:

  • Incorporate more of the hallway details into the anomaly list
    • Have the lights go out halfway down the hallway
    • Change what side of the doors have the handles
    • Add or remove objects from the tables
    • Have 1 or more doors be open
  • Add a few more details to the hallway so it isn't as easy to memorize
    • Add door numbers (can be changed for anomalies)
    • Add paintings to the wall panels (can be changed for anomalies)
Developer

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. These types of games are new to me and I didn’t want to make the anomalies too subtle, but I might have overshot the mark a bit.

Thanks for the recommendations as well, I will keep them in mind for future jams!
