Adorable pixel art style! I really love it! Maybe I could ask what software you used to create the pixel-style artwork?
I'm glad you liked the art style! I don't consider myself a good pixel artist so it's neat to see how people really like it!
Answering your question I used Libresprite, the open source/free fork of aseprite, you can find it here: https://libresprite.github.io
I like how you implemented the theme! Was a little confused at first but then got to talk to some NPCs and found out where to go. Had me some tense moments, also the kill animations were good. Nice submission
Awesome job overall! I really loved the art, atmosphere and story
Adding other characters was a great touch, as were the different death animations (I think I saw them all because I died a bunch of times haha)
Going down the floors in the final part had me super tense. The game has a lot of potential, I’ll definitely keep an eye out for future updates!
Hello! Thanks for the video! Yeah the point of the game is going through the corridors over and over again while searching for new things. Yes it is randomized and yes, a thing i need to change is the way how the random choices weigh more in favor of not finding anything, which i get can be frustrating. More characters and stuff can be found and reading the dialogues with the characters is the way to find the way out of the place! Oh and yes, the corpse you find randomly is your corpse and is always positioned on the last spot you were killed and changes depending the way you were killed.
Also you are right i should add in the description the repetitive nature of the game.
And yes i also think the intro subtitles go too fast, i will change that in future versions.
Thanks for checking out, for your valuable feedback and for featuring my game in your video!
Really nice game! Like the concept and art, also the death animation is really well done! I was very confused if I even took the right path in the beginning since nothing happend for a few floors but after a while things started to change and I did have fun playing it! Also thanks that there is no stamina, otherwise I would have lost the race.
Yes! The point of the game is the constant doubt of being on the right path since you find yourself walking the same place over and over again until something happens. About the stamina: I was thinking on adding it but then decided against it because even in it's current state you can easily get caught by the killer if you are not careful enough.
Congrats on your submission! I went out the door where the lady that can't remember stuff well and there's a big dark area to run around in. I didn't realize the door to exit was down, so I was wandering around in the dark for quite some time. Once I found the way out, I managed to get back and finish the game. I wasn't sure if moving around was random or not so I tried going up and down randomly until I saw something different and then continued to look around. I love the art in the game and the light effects were done pretty well.
Yeah, that part with the lady was one of the last parts i did before submitting so it was done in a rush and I didn't add something to indicate the exit was there, I'll add something in the complete version. And yes, the idea of the game is going through the dark corridor over and over until finding something new, so the player can read the texts and figure the way out.
Thank you so much for the feedback! I'll check your game as soon as i get home!
