Game Description
A mysterious platformer for Godot Wild Jam 82 Find your way out of the cave โ€” but be careful where you step. In The Unseen Path, you must navigate through a shadowy cavern where danger lurks beneath the surface. One wrong move, and youโ€™ll plunge into the deep, dark water below. Trust the fireflies: they are your only guides through the darkness. Can you follow the light and make it to the end?

How does your game tie into the theme?
The Unseen Path ties into the theme "Unseen" by challenging players to navigate a dark cave where the safe path is hidden from view. Only by following the glow of fireflies can the invisible route be revealed and the exit reached.

I don't know how I got two playable characters, but it was cool. The music is really engaging and the graphics look nice. Also, I love the water particle effects and it was nice to see I wasn't the only one to use Godot 3.6.  I kind of got stuck, though. Anyway, good work!

Developer

Thank you for your kind feedback! Can I ask how you managed to get two playable characters? This is clearly unintended ๐Ÿ˜‚ On which browser did you played and at what point of the game did you got two playable characters? Right from the start or after a retry or maybe something else?

Submitted

Right after the first character dropped, I jumped around a bit and a second one came after it. If you look in the comments section, you'll see someone got even more than two. I played on Firefox.

I thought the idea of fireflies as a light source was clever and fun, and I thought the art was well done and cohesive. Also, very good name for a game

Thank you my friend :D
Yeah totally agree about the game name ๐Ÿ˜‚

Look at all of those guys!
I know this wasn't intended, but it was fun.

Anyway, nice platforming here, cool art and music!

I feel like the theme could have been more present, but it's a good game nonetheless.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! The main focus for this jam was the art, so I'm happy with the results :)

How did you managed to get all of those playable characters? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Did you get them from the start or after a retry or something else? On which browser did you played the game?

It was at the very start:

When you press 'Space' or something to spawn the character, you can move a little and press the button again to make another one spawn. You can pretty much keep doing that and have a bunch of little guys.

I was on OperaGX btw :p

Developer

I might have an idea of what is happening here... ๐Ÿค”
Thank you for your help!

It gave me Castle Crashers vibes! ๐Ÿ˜„ The level felt a little too long, but the idea is neat, good job!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! Yeah definitely took inspiration from Castle Crashers here ๐Ÿ˜‚ Dan Paladin in my main source of inspiration for game assets ๐Ÿ˜

The art was nice, and it was a neat concept. It felt like there was only one path to follow and the fireflies were just above and below the path. Initially I went down when I saw the first firefly below the path and ended up in the water.

Developer

Yup we realized that maybe the game description is a bit misleading. The game goal is to exit the cave and following the fireflies and the lights guides you through the "hidden path" that leads to the exit

Very nice art :)

And damn, what a big level. Falling in the water after running along for awhile and getting sent all the way back home stings a little hehe.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! :D The level designer tends to get a little carried away ahah

Hey! Cool submission! Really liked the art style and song choice for the game haha
I think a more compact level (and with enemies that chase you) would make it more fun, tho!
GJ :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Good point on the level length and enemy suggestion :)

It just feels like a regular platformer, just that it is in the dark. What is so special about this game?

Also, I don't get how to reveal the "invisible route"

Developer

Who talked about an invisible route ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's special because we did it โค๏ธ
