Nice art and concept! It was quite fun! The main issue is movement, particularly with the wall jumping, it's really hard to master. Great job!
The art has a nice style, but the player sprite doesn't change for wall jump which looks really weird.
The controls though... with how tight it is there needs to be a reduction in collision or at least coyote jump, and wall jumping is so painful. That area really needs tweaking.
I see what you're saying, yes its possible coyote time may be needed as well. Hmm... thank you for the detailed feedback!
The art is nice, I like the way the main character looks, but like others have mentioned the movements feel too strong and the wall jumps are complicated, still really nice!
A lot of potential but I feel like the every movement is energy was a bit too punishing. Maybe reducing it to only on jumping would make it feel a bit better.
A platformer with a lot of potential! As others have mentioned, the wall jump is a bit difficult to control, but I can see this going far with some tuning.
The art style is nice, but I couldn't get the hand of wall jumping :(
A good game, but the control is kinda hard tho. the wall jump is hard. but i think the concept is good.
Good job
Good Challenge. I managed the third checkpoint a couple of times. The balancing seems quite tight. But usually I either make it (just) or I messed up huge at some point and am nowhere near. I think I only had one near success. Yeah for me it feels like the wall jump is triggering where it shouldn't, from the corners or from too far away leading to some issues when jumping near walls. Maybe some extra stickiness on the walls when you first touch them could smooth that out a bit. Nice.
Hey would you be kind as to record a short video of how the wall jump looks for you? When I test it I don't have the same problems.
Here you are, this should be viewable for a bit:

The small issue at like 7 seconds isn't the worst, I suppose you're reading facing direction to determine where to push the player. The real issue is the notch jump attempts starting around 14 (approach from say, 12..5). For me, persists on Firefox and DuckDuckGo browsers (Win10).
Thank you GameCarpenter, this kind of feedback is really helpful to know because most of the time how I perceive things is typically not how they are always perceived. 😂 I am taking these things into account into my next projects and possibly if I continue or remake this game. Thank you!
i love the game style
but the wall jumping is a bit weird
Nice game and I like how you used the limitation, but I think the wall jumping was a bit too clunky and confusing.
Its really hard but maybe it's just me. I like how you used the limitation.
I didnt like how you had to turn to jump the other way with wall jumps and i think the gravity was too high and the energy is not high enough or costs too much to do stuff.
Love the concept and artstyle. I have a hard time with wall jumps, it feels like the physics is going waaay too fast, to the point of me wondering if it could be a framerate related issue? With a few tweaks, I think it could be a pretty fun game!
It was neat having a limited number of jumps, I just found the wall jumping to be quite challenging and it would eat through most of my jumps :(
this so far has definitely been the best use of limitation i've seen so far i'll give you credit for that! The art style is great however the background not being anti aliased was really bothering me when moving around quickly, it's jarring. The game itself I don't have many complaints about i think you scoped this project super well
Huh, anti-aliasing, I definitely added some things in the game for that to not happen that's very interesting. Could you tell me what OS you're on, and was it on the web version?
That's strange, i'm using the brave browser on windows 10. My GPU is somewhat modern so I doubt that factored into it
Wait I'm guessing your seeing the white lines like flashing everywhere, right?
yeah, that's what it is
Loved the art but wall jump is really hard, Good job!
Interesting game! I love the concept, but wall jump was pretty much impossible. With some tweaks it is a great game!
I like the visual style, but the physics are just unreasonably fast and hard to control.
Is the energy remaining visible somewhere? It felt like I was just dying at random.
Yeah, the energy is the top right number in the HUD. There is also health which when it reaches 0 will transport you back to the start of the level.
Hm, that's odd. When I played yesterday, there was no sound and I didn't see that meter or the health. I wonder if there was an issue on my laptop... I've given it another too. The physics are still throwing me off, but I've adjusted my ranking accordingly.
