On the page you mention that you didn't have time for visuals, focusing on gameplay - I felt that there was so much great visual juice packed in, I'd love to see what you come up with given more time!
Game was fun, I liked that enemies start off slow and increase their speed as your score/time played increases! My one issue gameplay-wise was that since drops that would increase my power bar weren't guarenteed, I felt I was being punished for wasting power moving if it wasn't to pick up a power cell. As such my strategy was to remain completely still and wait for enemies to get close, before firing and grabbing any power cells/powerups. It's a small topic at the end of the day, and very much personal to me - it could be a mechanic others playing really liked!
great feedback thanks. I initally had an idle penalty but felt it was too hard. I try to make my game jams easy as you forget when play testing that you know all the tricks. I have been experimenting made a survival mode no walls and added a lot more power ups. Needs more juice though never enough ha.
Great game mate I got 98 points and had a good run it it liked the neon digital style and great choice of music.
Neat game! Loved the retro aesthetic vibes. Good use of theme and pretty impressive that you included a range of modifiers in such a short time! well done.
Thanks, it was only beacuse I didnt do any custom artwork, used bloom and vignettes to make shapes pop. Thanks for playing.
The polishing, the effects...It is perfect.
Except for a little bit of enemy ai problem where they stick on walls(I had the same problem with my game and my solution was just abandoning walls entirely lol), this game is great!
I didnt even think to remove walls ha, yeah havent learned goo dai yet and pathfinding in Unity. One day. Thanks for playing.
This is a lot of fun - really easy to get caught up chasing a highscore (419 for me, not sure how!), and so juicy!
Central mechanic is really strong, would be interested to see where you could take it if you expand this with more powerups and/or enemy types post-jam :)
wow great high score. I never got that high. Thanks for playing.
My topscore for now: 140 points.
This game is very well made for a 3hours jam. It has a lot of “juice”. The explosions, the visuals, de sfx and vfx, de camera shake… All work exceptionally well together. It´s also addictive and challenging. It has some issues (the random power-ups, the enemies stuck in walls…) but are minor aspects of a very cool game. One of my favorites of all I played until now.
Thanks for playing. I'm glad you liked it. It was a good score too. Yes the enemy ai i struggled to polish as i ran out of time.
Cool game! I liked the aesthetics very much.
I feel like the powerups you can gain from your enemies are a little too random. I really needed a battery boost, but I got a triple shot instead. Oh well.
Anyway, good job with the game!
Thanks for playing, its a hard balance to ge tt=he weights of power ups. Not enough time for playtesting. Triple shot was my favourite. I think with a bit more variety, it might have been more fun, but I just ran out of time.
Nice game, I had a bug with the AI when I was standing head on with an enemy with a wall between us, the enemy would just freeze in place and start shaking. Other than that solid game!
Thanks, yes I struggled with enemy pathfinding, still new to unity, I'll keep tinkering with after see if i can get it right.
Simple idea, but it fits the idea and just does the job, + it's almost the same as mine so can't complain lol. Visuals are ok, even some effects are there, which is nice. Liked the music, too. Generally well done for the time we had!
Thanks, yes simple works best for me in trijam, that way i finish in time. Its so easy to over scope.
