Description
The style of game is an action puzzle block game (Tetris, Puyo Puyo, Tetris Attack) and more abstractly, I Was trying to go for the feeling of a cheap Super Nintendo game you would buy from a used game store. All of the tracks were made in FL Studio using SNES Soundfonts. The process I had for making the songs was writing down a document with the songs general vibe, and track length I wanted, and then just making most of the songs as quickly as possible without much planning after that.

Its 6:00am as of writing this. I'm very tired, but this was very fun. :)
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
Okay, hear me out on this one. I was trying to think of a good way to work freedom into the submission, and my thought process landed me onto thinking of a type of game that involves a lot of freedom. I somehow thought that the action puzzle block genre would fit well (Tetris, Puyo Puyo, Tetris Attack) since it involves gameplay that's centered on being able to make many kinds of choices. Yeah, its a stretch, and I swear I actually thought it made sense.

I love the sound design of your publication.....
It's like I'm really playing some old game! Miaow!
I like it :>
P.S. Rawr
Impressive stuff in many ways - the motifs and themes are very well expanded upon without losing recognition, the feeling of an old SNES game is captured perfectly, there even seems to be some interesting tuning and/or scale stuff in some places (?? i don't have much ear training so can't comment much on this), and a lovely soundtrack in general. Yeah I dunno what's the real connection between freedom and block puzzlers, but whatever.
Neat compositions, I think you nailed the style you were going for! Big DK Country vibes, especially from the later tracks
I like how you took a very different approach to the theme, the concept of the game is also original. I enjoyed the tracks, they are pretty simple but still captivating. The melodies are also well made. Good job!
I think you managed to illustrate your idea pretty well, good job ! :) I'm not entirely convinced indeed by the coherence with the theme though but why not ahah. A track for the logo ? Very fun detail !
Really nice old school chip tune vibes! Love it! Great work! Great use of doubling the melody at the octave and harmonization to keep things interesting! Messenger vibes on that last tune!
VIBES are on point in this OST YES!! the logo sound is so gamey and i love the sound font choices too! has that sorta nostalgic classic SNES feel for sure - maybe a little bit earthbound?
love things that have like a 2 player battle theme and a logo, title, menu, level. GREAT SUB! actually goes for a full game OST!!
Def a personal fave sub of mine on here! super unique to the rest and familiar to me
witchcraft, to have studied the sounds of retro games very well and employ it in this soundtrack... i love how this turned out!! i played games like Tetris Attack when i was young and playing a bunch of Super Nintendo games, so the choice of instruments and the FX really adds to that retro sound. >:3c
nice touch keeping a motif throughout the soundtrack also! the way you altered the melodic structure with an additional note in the downward motion for the Two Player Battle track is awesome. i really like the Level Theme overall — the modal mixture at the end along with the chord progressions throughout do it for me!!
Loved it! It is definitely exactly as you describe it and it fits perfectly.
really like this, very fitting for a puzzle game! though admittedly it doesn't really fit that theme haha
besides that, i love the whimsy of the soundfonts you worked with, especially the soundfont rock track! and it's really funny that you even had a logo jingle as part of the soundtrack, maybe i should have that on my next submission... great work on this!
Oh yeah, the vibes in this entry are immaculate and exactly the kinds of songs I want to hear more of! Fun and catchy!
You're right that it doesn't really fit the theme too well but the music is so good!
Now I must ask, Are you a proud puyo puyo player, or a tiresome typical tetris tyrant?
I honestly flip between the two! but I think I enjoy Tetris more.
SMH my head. I'm a true Puyo Puyo head. I'll play puyo puyo in puyo puyo tetris every time and even though I will lose 80% of the time, at least I know I have the moral high ground

I'm definitely imagining this soundtrack to be for one of those games that gets a cult following years after release because the composer went so much harder than they had any right to, single-handedly bringing the game out of obscurity. Amazing tracks! Love the Title theme :)
Big fan of the soundfonts used in this one. I love the idea of stylizing the soundtrack after the type of game you'd find in a bargain bin - that is really clever, and each of the pieces does a great job of matching this kind of vibe. Can't quite put my finger why that is specifically, but it just works. Some really memorable melodies here, and the bass-work is great. Often an under-stated part of retro games, so due respect paid where relevant.
I think of the bunch, the Title and Menu Theme are my favorites - they just have this sauce to them. I feel like I'd stumble across them in some random retro-games playlist and then find myself researching the game out of curiosity. Super solid work, really enjoyed listening to these!
