Yeah honestly i'll do that too I'm poor as hell

Thank you!! I've never heard of Olivier Buckland but I'll take those as a compliment. I wasn't expecting a review this long lol. Glad that you liked it and thanks for your feedback too! I actually tried to make the piano sound distant in Sine so I put the reverb mix to like 70%.

I liked the different genres you managed to put in such a short runtime. The 80s sounding bass at the first track was a cool touch. Pretty good!

This is so underrated. I love the mellow and soft composition style you have, it's really good like it sounds so lonely.  The sudden change at "Lighthouse" was so cool, I reaaally love the ambience this could be one of the best atmospheres I've heard so far. "Streetlamp Sabotage" is a real highlight for me, first the melody that slowly changes texture, then the breakcore!!! When I heard the glitchy pad I thought "wait will this be breakcore?" and it was. I really like the distant tempo-changing drums at "Alternating Current", such a nice touch. Overall this was VERY good holy banger.

The production is very strong here.  The drums and the overall mix and production sound so clean and professional. Also I love that wah wah sounding bass at "i met a wise spirit". The pad at the "hermit crab" one that appears out of nowhere is genuinely gorgeous. Also side note it's just so nice to see the effort you put in at the youtube video those little animations are so cool and original.

The first track holy banger. The violin at "That summer day" stands out a bit, I still liked the feeling of despair it gave. The mixing at "The Strange Figure Only I Can See"can be improved, but it was still very good. I reaally liked the beat and the overall atmosphere at "Drowning in Deep Waters". This was very explosive and overall really nice.

I liked the eerie vibe you made, loved the breakbeat at "DESCENDENSNDN". It's pretty short, but you still managed to leave an impression. One nitpick I have is it's "simplicity" which is the opposite of munou_'s opinion lol. The instruments sound too "stock" if you get what I mean?  There could have been like more "bass" at the last track for example or delay/reverb on some instruments, but it's just my opinion.

This felt like a coherent (and huge) soundtrack you could hear on some wacky rpg. "Storm Advisory" was probably my favourite, I really liked the synth sounds and the melodies. Nah I think it's "Triquetra", I love those pads and the chord progression at 0:21!

All of the tracks has it's own charm, also good job on the leitmotifs (i didn't do that bruh), they really help keeping the soundtrack coherent. I really liked the reappearing flute melody at "tip that kayak!".

The weakest point for me was the mixing though,  The sea sound is too present on "Decrystallized" and "Azure Caverns", I still really enjoyed listening it . It sounds also a bit too harsh on times (at Tip that Kayak!  for example).

The guitar at "Save the summer" was quite loud and sounded off for me. The tracks were overall nice, I liked the bitcrushed countdown, nice detail.

I liked the glitchy effects in the intro. "Under currents" is my favourite one by far with the beautiful kinda glitchy atmosphere, the whispering sounds and when the big pad suddenly kicks in wow.

I didn't have much time to properly mix hence the loudness of the track, still nice that it's your fav one.

I really like the weird glitchy noises at "run it back", it's so hypnotising. I used Emergence too on my soundtrack, very nice that other people use it too. I can recognise that delay time changing technique, I never have put that in one of my songs but I know what it sounds like.  I like the delay and reverb sounds you use on the drums on "Please dont touch etc etc", I like the sudden chord progression that appears, it sounds so nicee. "Of all the buttons to press", what the banger especially when the chopped up beat appears. Overall this was very nice, I actually want to play the game you have described now which is a good sign.

I loved the saxophone(i think?) on the first track. The production and the sound quality in this are amazing everything sounds so delicious lol. This gives me Noire vibes with the jazz drums you put. Overall this is veryy good.

Thanks!!, ! I used to listen and play deltarune like 3-4 years ago (chapter 1 & 2) but not anymore so yeah I think it's a reach lol. I like Thunder too now, when I was first making it I was a bit uncertain but when I actually finished it I realised that it actually fits well into the soundtrack. On "Mark..." I used a chord progression I used on some of the tracks I keep to myself and the similarity to minecraft isn't really surprising because I LOVE C418!!!!!!!  I'm glad that I managed to set that "serious and empty" feeling like you described. For nkumo atoll the first half is 7/4 or 7/8 idk then it switches to 5/8 5/4 (idk time sig notation) at 2:58. And I DID use lorenzo's drums on Forth how did you recognize lol (I usually don't use decentsampler instruments that much but I downloaded A LOT during the jam).

You nailed the storytelling in this one, each tracks corresponds well to its description. I liked your use of guitars too, makes it set apart from other submissions. My favourite track would be "Guilty?", i liked the mysterious vibe of it.

The sound design and the texture of the synth sounds you made are very good, I especially liked the second track with the soft synth keys at the second part. It would have been nice if the soundtrack was more elaborated with more tracks. Overall this was pretty good!

I'm a sound designer type person myself, so I like when there's submissions that put emphasis on the texture. I liked the various pads and other noises you put. The mixing can be improved on some parts like the volume, the guitar is a bit too loud on the first track for example. This was overall short but prettynice.

This is so immersing I felt as If I was put in a dark basement with a guy violently eating and making mmm noises life chanign

Reading the descriptions with the music was really intriguing. I liked how the soundtrack kept getting darker overtime. I recognised that tts voice at the 8th track lol.

This was nice, it has kinda a soothing and hopeful vibe to it. I liked listening to "lana's place", sounds calm like you're in a safe zone like a checkpoint. The tracks being too long isn't a big deal for me, It leaves a bigger impact and I forget it less when it's repeated. I think my fav is "it doesn't end like this", Iove the keys at around the 3min mark.

Thank you!! I wanted to make the drums more varied and even add an amen break in Nkumo Atoll but since it was the last day I didn't really had enough time for it.

I like the mysterious theme this has. I think my favourite that would be "Brocéliande on a summer night", I really like the mood of it.

I loved the synth going crazy with the filter on "Venturing on", also crazy breakcore on "ROUGH WATERS". It isn't as eclectic as your crunchtime 4 submission honestly, but this is a banger.

I love the vocal samples, the beats are so groovy, incredible production. But it's pix's team so no surprise that it's a banger lol. The time sig change at tricks, facade is INSANeee. I love the bitcrushed clicks and pops in it. Please just go make a game and you'll become Bill Gates or something with all the music and art skills you have

The third track got me off track lol, what time signature was that? I enjoyed all the tracks. This was fun to listen to, even if it's relatively short. Nice job!

Thanks for your comment! I may make a youtube video but I'm kinda lazy tbh.

This was pretty dark and weird, but it was nice to listen to. I liked how the first track transitions into the second with the baby still crying. I think my fav track would be "Smell of iron", especially the breakcore part. I also liked the distorted sounds throughout. I also enjoyed"idontknowwhatodoerhoihmorie" because it sounds kinda chill but you know that something's definitely not right.

Thank pou! I just made up a word that sounds "tribal" if you get what I mean, then put the word Atoll on it to indicate that it's the name of the island.

The composition is all over the place on this lol, very original. This was fun to listen to, good job.

16 tracks is insane, you had to like make 1-2 tracks every day. I like the drums in Grotto (the triangle bass is too loud though) , some of the tracks get groovy. This definitely sounds like a real soundtrack, I would love if this was in a real game. Also nice, someone that uses FamiTracker (I didn't use it for the jam). Overall this was fun to listen to.

(1 edit)

I can imagine a silly game with the music and your description. You nailed the battle and march feel with the rolling drums. I enjoyed the second phase of the last track, very cool.

I liked the wacky drums at the second track. The mixing is a bit rough on some tracks like the third track, but I stil enjoyed it don't get me wrong. The tracks feel complete, each having a proper beginning, climax and end.

Wow 10 tracks lol. Every track sounds different with it's own charm which is cool. I also like the title names. The tracks sometimes sound too quiet and uneventful though like in the track "Something Fell?".

Thank you! I'm so happy to get comments this positive. RIP Mark

Thank you!!! Thunder can be too harsh, I decided to take a different approach. You're right on the mix of Nkumo Atoll, I kinda speedrunned it because of the little time left.  I noticed some issues but I honestly got too lazy to fix them lol.

I enjoyed the various styles and the moods this soundtrack carries. However, the drums and some other instruments sound a bit too bland sometimes, like the drumkit in the track "when we change", you could have changed the velocities to make the beat more dynamic.

I like the cozy setting this soundtrack has. The composition and the instruments used are very well done. I would see no problem this being in a stardew valley like game.

The soundtrack starts off strong, overall very nice composition.  The setting of the game, especially "Then THAT Means" reminds me of ace attorney. I liked the sudden mood switch at "Kelsey", very cool. If I could give criticism it would be the fact that the soundtracks sound too happy for a detective game. I love your basses it sounds so delicious lol. Overall pretty nice!

The first track is distinct, the "glitchy" piano was cool. There could have been more instruments. However all the instruments at the second track sound quite loud, the volume could have been lowered

this game has made a clear negative impact on my brain, 10/10 would reccomend
