To everyone whose played, thank you all so much for the feedback! A lot of what you've been pointing out in your comments, especially regarding the UI and confusion surrounding gameplay, are all things I wanted to improve upon during the jam period, but I was unfortunately forced to pull back for the sake of scope. However, I do plan on continuing development with this project after voting is complete, so if you'd like to see more opponents, more upgrades, or simply want to see your feedback in action, keep an eye out for future ReBeat updates on my profile!

Thanks again, and congrats to everyone who submitted! (If you've gotten this far, enjoy a treat; you deserve it)

Nice job, I like the color choice. Took me a while to figure out what was going on, so the UI could use some improvements, but overall good stuff

I liked the idea of the higher/lower attacks and the different power you can choose. I don't know if that really came into play that much but with a little tweaking I think it would make it super fun. Nice work!

I completed the game XD

this game seems to really favor blocking the attack

I can just spam block the attack 3 times or match the enemies moves count then use a random attack last

maybe to counter this method, you can make the blank move, to be positioned randomly

and you also need to add remove moves in case player miss click during playing it

There is a undo selection button next to the sequence visualizer, near top center of the screen, but I could have definitely made it more obvious XD

Blocking could also use come refining/balancing as well. I have a few ideas on how to get that started, but thank you for the ideas!

Cool take on the rock paper scissors concept. Nice visuals/audio.

But there's a strategy to win every battle with 0 risk that should be fixed.

Just block everything until the opponent uses a M/L attack. Then you know there will be an empty slot in the end.

Could be solved with 2 options. Let the ai/player insert blank slots, so you don't know when the 3 actions will happen. Or don't let the player use 4 blocks in a round, to always force you to expose yourself.

I was afraid someone would find that out XD

But yeah, I wanted to come up with a workaround before submissions closed, but sadly didn't have the time. I have a few ideas I want to try out in the future, but thank you for the suggestions!

Creative game, I enjoy the premise and the whole setup, that said the game was confusing, I beat it but I dont still understand the higher or lower logic, in cases of complex gameplay design you should reveal mechanics slowly and in an interactive tutorial form, that makes it easier for the player to understand and enjoy the game. I like the old arcadey game art style, It is a nice entry but it could have used some work around the edges.

Good style, but UI was too confusing for me. Didn't quite get it.

Cool game, I enjoyed trying to think of the best strategy. I think the UX could be improved by giving more feedback to the buttons and making the attacks seem more lively.

i dig the aesthetic and how the attack selection menu is set up, once i found out how the game works. it just took less than a minute of reading and a couple test combats, which isn't bad at all. nice job on a solo project!

A great idea! At first, I was a bit overwhelmed by the introduction, but then I quickly figured out how it works and had fun playing.

Would a more step-by-step tutorial have been helpful? The "How To Play" was meant to be split up into sections, but I ended up having to squeeze what I could into a single screen for the sake of time. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it, though!

Cool game! Found the instructions a bit confusing, but once I figured it out it was fun!

Nice concept, took some time to figure out what the attacks meant and how the energy system works. Wasn't able to beat the guy, but the game has potential

Glad you think so!
