Very cool idea for a rhythm game. Once you get the hang of it, it's really fun! :D The two songs and their beatmaps are great. Especially loved how song 2 introduced some off-beat projectiles. Love the character designs (duh, who would have guessed >v<) and the pun of the game's name. ^^ The mix between 2D and 3D assets is an interesting choice. I would have loved to see you lean more into it but alas, it's a game jam and time is precious. ^^'

What I would improve is adding more sound cues relevant to what's happening in the game, like for example a special sound for projectiles that don't get parried right away and need multiple hits. This way you have audio confirmation of that as well and don't just need to rely purely on visuals. Other than that and the usual polish, I really think it's a pretty neat game. :D

  • a little challenging without any healing, but overall fun
  • i like the character designs
  • i like the music
  • it feels really good to parry the mines that bounce back at you
    • i really like when they're different colors and i have to alternate my inputs; it feels good to succeed at that
  • i wish there was more feedback that i was doing damage to the boss
  • i wish the animation for taking damage was different than the one for parrying too early
    • i think that the game otherwise does a good job making mistakes feel like MY mistakes, rather than the game being unfair

I beat the first level! I am really bad at rhythm games, however, unfortunately—but I really like the idea, just would have preferred more of a tutorial and visual feedback/info (i.e. showing the colors for each button on screen, so I don't forget which is which, heh)

Interesting game! I think with some practice it could be very fun.

Solid rhythm game! I really like that you have the ability to dogde if you're overwhelmed and the attack patterns are fun and varied. Still very difficult as someone that usually doesn't play these kinds of games, a warmup level or two would've definitely been nice even if it is just the existing levels with half of the attacks taken out

Pretty good game.

Really fun concept! I like that the difficulty is completely based in choice. It also took me a minute to get the feel for it because I was expecting to parry the attacks with an anticipated sword slash, but the projectiles seem to parry when closer to the body, which feels a little weird - I'd recommend changing this visually. Overall really fun!

Heccc!!! I really like how you guyz blend the parry with the audio together, super satisfying when you get it right!! Reminds me of Hi Fi Rush!!

Love Rythm games! This one's really fun, but also really puts you in the deep end with difficulty - would benefit from a Tutorial!
