Incredible texture and detail, really well rendered!

Hatsune Miku

HostSubmitted

This is really selling the time period!

A bit too spicy but here we are

HostSubmitted(-1)

Thanks for your entry, Bat! The rules say "family friendly" - but it'd be funny to include your art with censorship stars like in the old magazines. I'll think on it. Wonderful line work as usual.

I wanted to make a farming sim for this jam.

or this gif

or scaled for bigger screens

HostSubmitted

Wow, it looks so playable!

happy sun

HostSubmitted

The mixed dither and line styles really sell this as unique and punchy.

I think it would be a great idea to have GTA in Nokia!!

HostSubmitted

I bet it would control really well with the number pad!

froggy jump game!

Prince of Nokia!

HostSubmitted

Beautifully detailed. You've really captured the action.

Could you also provide a png version please? No major rush.

(2 edits)

Thanks for the comment, I really love this game, and I think it was awesome on the Nokia.

This image is in PNG!

Here are my submissions! FIDGEY is a game where you customize your own fidget cube and battle other people! You can find more info here :) https://bhdbdingo.itch.io/fidgey

HostSubmitted

Incredible! I LOVE the idea of making your own fidget cube. The concept has my fingers twitching. I'm really impressed with the level of detail you've dived into.

Thank you so much!! That means a lot. This has been a project I’ve wanted to expand on for a while and this felt like a perfect way to explore more of it :) I’m so happy you like it!

Wonderfully readable. You really know your way around a 1bit title!

Spooky Sweets!

Thanks for putting this together, I had a lot of fun working on it.

HostSubmitted

Wonderful. A really nice use of the black background. Thanks for your submission!

Hey Ducks!

1) A trading card game where urban legends duke it out!

Yay, my first game jam! Much respect to all 1-bit pixel artists, this was tough. Been really enjoying & learning from everyone's entries!

Mine is a "lost" Granada Holmes text adventure game that takes him to the strange lands of Florida... :P

Submitted(+1)

Ah. Finally. Leisure Suit Larry for a whole new mobile generation.

HostSubmitted

Beautiful simplicity! Could you also post the 1:1 original scale png? Cheers!

Submitted (1 edit)

Like my other entries there is also a project-page ( https://8bit-ninja.itch.io/nokiaartjam-nokia-suit-larry ) submitted to the jam that contains the original scale asset ;)

HostSubmitted

Excellent, thanks! :D I'm still wading through the deluge of submissions haha

I don't know if this will work, I want to send the design through the page, but it creates a new project for me, and I don't know if it was sent correctly, what a complicated page. Anyway, I'll try to upload it here, to see if it can be taken as sent. It's the Nokia logo, which I made yesterday.

HostSubmitted

Cool! I saw it on Insta too. Unfortunately you need to submit the project as a """game""" to properly enter it. I'll ask around for next time for an easier way to submit images.

You can accept me on Insta, to send you a link, perhaps, because I really don't know how else to send it, I find it very limited to share it here, since every time I try it tells me that I can't.

If the perfect link is valid, and if not, I will only say one thing, itchio is already taking me down the street of bitterness. Full stop.

HostSubmitted(+1)

haha it wasn't built for image submissions. Your image post above is fine to be submitted into the jam, but it won't be publically ratable. This doesn't really matter, everything is fine.

(1 edit) (+5)

Whew made it in time

HostSubmitted(+1)

Wow, I'm glad you did! Wonderful flow of lines!

HostSubmitted(+2)

Secret entries - I forgot to upload these into my main submission. Goth Girl dating simulator and Famicase Viewer.

hi everyone. i'm totally new here (also in pixel art) and i spent the last 2 days creating these images. didn't know it has to be a project to be a rateable entry but anyway hope you like them.

my first idea : PLOOPY BIRD

ploop on people's heads, cars and even ice creams and make them some lasting memories.

playable with just a botton.

here is the scaled image:

2. 2d car platformer

playable with 1 and 4 for balance and 3and 6 for gas/break.

3. 1BiT piano tiles

gameplay: 1,2 and 3 buttons.

HostSubmitted

These are incredible ideas! I can really see them coming to life and playing them waiting for a bus.

i hope you make more pixel art, these are great.

(+2)

thanks a lot!

i'm not a game developer but this contest made me think that maybe i should actually make the first idea for mobiles as my first game, after i finished my thesis... i always wanted to make one!

and thanks for hosting this really fun contest! i'm really enjoying seeing participants' works.

HostSubmitted(+1)

Superb, I bet it'll be a good introduction to game making. Good luck with your thesis!

I hope so! Thank you :]

Hi everyone

I made this little mockup of that time my grandpa fought the devil with his machete.

A title screen for a fake Nokia N-GAGE game service for the 3310,

and a picture of my friend's OC, Maggie.

I hope it still count, I couldn't post earlier because I wasn't home T-T

SUBMISSION

(+3)

Was a bit late to submitting here, but you know I finished this at the beginning of May ;-)

I'm not too happy with this one, so I'll just post it here because I don't think I'll come back to it rn.

(+5)

Hey, here are my submissions for the jam (hope it's not too late)
1st: Sort of a screen saver / 2nd: A slice of life RPG ( I'd call it Konbi-life) / 3rd: Kinda drawing software like paint or photoshop

HostSubmitted

Nokoshop, perhaps? It looks great!

Submitted(+1)
updated my submission a bit
(1 edit) (+2)

Hey hey! It's unfortunate that I only heard of this jam just earlier haha, would've loved to have joined it in time XD

But better late than never, here are my pieces I made for the jam!

1: Based on the mobile game "No Humanity"
2: Art of my character, Mery
3: Fan-art from an artist I liked
4: Random game mock-up

No Humanity

A monster with sharp teeth, its mouth wide open about to devour a fleeing UFO. There are other spaceships directed towards the UFO. There is a timer on the top-left indicating that 15 seconds have passed.

Serenity
My character, Mery, holding a parasol and looking at the camera while facing towards the left. There's a flower on her head, along with flowers all around her.

Alias

Drive the Road
Mock-up of a game where you're a car driving on the road. The numbers "009665" are on the top-left, indicating the game score. There's a simple white car in a dark scenery.

Hey just wondering, is there a way to rate submissions or just leave comments?

HostSubmitted

It looks like rating isn't enabled for some reason :/ I'm going to have to ask the admin team, because it might be because we didn't submit anything technically playable.

Submitted

Oh ok, hope they can sort it out!

I forgot to add this last one, sorry!
