Hey! I have some feedback on your game.
- Jumping is too hard. You should have made the player jump a bit higher so you don't need to play the game so perfectly.
- Player is too fast.
- On this specific level the wheel does not need to go back and forth so much:
- I wish you would stay on the robot's head on one of the last levels.
I beat the game anyway:
A very good idea and well done. It is too hard for a jam game in my opinion, the first levels at least should be easier.
The only real complaint I have are the controls. Why not W for jumping? Then you could keep your hand on the mouse and everything would be smoother.
Also I would suggest to mark your last position (or let the player mark it), so that you can improve your plan instead of guessing at what pixel you might have been. Also the trajectory (or only this) would help a lot and would make it more puzzle-like.
I just realise that this complaint is rather personal as I do not have a standard keyboard, my space is on the right side. Anyway, it still holds because W would be more intuitive and ergonomic.
thanks for feedback but you know you can use your left thumb to jump i find it easier for q platformer like this
Yes, see my response above, I have a split keyboard where space is only on the right half, but this is certainly more my problem :-)
But in your case, as you do not need W, simply allow both so that everyone can choose based on own preference.
ok ill try doing that when i update the game
Relly pretty! Nice and simple art done well. The platforming and aiming were a bit unforgiving though. Maybe snap the aiming to 45 degrees when you get close to make those shots easier to pull off. The puzzles were cool too so well done!
Neat game! I've seen the theme interpreted this way for a lot of other submissions ("die to beat the level"), but your implementation of that idea using the shuriken system makes it a little more interesting, so nice work!
I think the difficulty spike is a little too sudden though. The tutorial level is a nice and simple, but the level immediately afterwards took me a whole lot of retries: The fast and frictionless movement makes precision platforming difficult. There's no way to jump back out of the pit in the left and right halves of the level, so not only do you have to not fall, but you also have to aim the shuriken to bounce in a manner that will make it land on the platform to hit you.
Maybe the precision platforming and multi-bounce mechanics can be introduced in separate levels? Maybe have a safety net (a way to return to the platforms without restarting) the first time you encounter it so you can practice without getting too frustrated?
Oh, and the graphics were pretty decent as well!
Overall, not too bad!
thanks, I'll try to reflect on these mistakes to use for my other project
Fun game I liked the main mechanic for killing yourself to progress to the next level. To me the friction felt a little bit too low like I was sliding off the platforms a lot (but maybe I am just bad haha). Good simple art and great submission overall. That scarf animation was really nice.
Really like the graphics, reminds me of "I wanna be the guy" for some reason. The levels are very fun and challenging. My only problem is that the jumping feels a little floaty, but overall, amazing job!
Also its really nice to see someone who uses G develop!
Please consider paying and rating my game if you can :)
Good game, I love the graphics! The idea is nice, but the levels are so difficult I gave up haha. Good job
big good
This game is very nice! But the controls on the wall in the beginning were very hard to understand
The game was amazing! The art was nice, and the music was cool. only issue was that at times the movent felt a bit sliperey, wihc mas frustrating when i had to jump of 1x1 platforms but other than that its amazing!
