Amazing game! The visuals are nice, the music is fantastic and I like the hardness of the puzzles! I also really like the verbal instructions and the little quips that are given after every time you die.

Developer

thanks I appreciate the comment and thanks for playing ❤👍

Holy moly this game is super hard. I don't know what eSports group you play tested this with but man I couldn't get past the second level to save my life. I even had to give the 3rd tutorial level like 6 attempts before finally beating it lol. There's a whole lot of charm here. I love the fun voice overs and the gore from the rabbits breaks my heart. The audio is fantastic and the art is equally great. The lawnmower can sometimes be really difficult to control also...not sure if that was by design or not. Sometimes you can go back on your path and other times you can't, I'm not sure what allows that or not.

Anyway, wonderful game. The world is better for having this game in it :)

Developer

haha thanks man. I designed it not allowing a 180 degree turn as I thought it would add to the challenge (guess I was right) 😁.  It definitely is a hard game. I put a lot of attempts in during development and I can now speed run it quite easily. There is a certain path (well a few of them) that you can take which will complete the level with fuel to spare (you know... short cuts 🤣). Thanks for giving it a play. I'll be playing some jam games later on.

Interesting idea but first level was unclear on how to progress. I ran out of fuel even without going over the same patch twice. If there is some trick that is not obvious, it might make sense to include that in the tutorial. Voiceover was kind of hard to listen to over and over.

Developer

hey thanks for the feedback. You should definitely be able to complete the levels if you dont go over the same patch twice (I'll take a look into that). Did you plan your route to collect enough fuel? You need to factor that in as you dont start with enough fuel to finish the level in 1 go.

Submitted

I did not see any fuel to collect? It was just grass and with 100% efficiency I still had ~20% to go.

Developer

that's very odd.  Can you screen shot your view and tweet me? There are fuel canisters all over the place 🤷‍♂️

Is there a chance you have framerate dependant code? I am running on a high refresh rate monitor that might be causing the fuel to deplete too quickly.

Submitted(+1)

I'm guessing that's what it is. I too couldn't complete the first level. I ran out of fuel even when I followed the same path that Whateep did in his playthrough.

Developer

you know what. That's probably what it is. I didnt factor in delta time 🤦‍♂️

We both tried it and got a bit frustrated. It seemed impossible to take a turn after just the next tile. Resulting in many fuel-burning circles around the last grass.

But what-a-game. Great idea and a great experience.
This is one of those games, where you share the link with your friends to play it.

Developer

hey sorry the controls were frustrating.  I designed it so you couldn't make a 180 degree turn. You can only go left or right when moving forward.

Submitted

The 180 was totally fine for gameplay.

What disturbed us was the 90 degree taking two tiles forward. Hence the circling around the last grass :)

Rated on here for posterity :)

Fun game and I have a more detailed write up on the game page

thanks bud. I'll check your game out later 😎

Kudos to the voice over; that really elevated it for me :)

I definitely felt the difficulty bump from the tutorials though; maybe the first level could do with one more fuel can?

Developer

thanks bud. Yeah the difficulty ramps up once the tutorial is finished
