This game has the best presentation in the entire jam. The aesthetics are a bit scattershot—a vaguely punk ninja protagonist, giant teddy bear enemies, a boss resembling a magical girl more than anything, old-timey film grain and music—but the individual elements are all well-made and fit together as well as, say, characters in the old He-Man cartoons. (Like, they're animated as if they belong in the same world, even if it's hard to imagine all these characters coexisting.)

The biggest problem is the simplicity and shortness. You basically just run forward and throw kunai; there's a jump, but it's too small to do anything (and of course you don't need it). There's not much in the game; you can beat it in about a minute. This wouldn't be as big a problem if you could play Indie Ninja in the browser, but for a nearly 300-MB download, I expect more.

I get that game jams give you a limited time frame to build things in, but I can't help but wonder if the time was well-spent. On one hand, part of me wishes less time was spent on making nice assets and more was spent on using them well. On the other hand, if the assets weren't so nice I wouldn't have such strong feelings about this game.

I'd say I want to see an expanded version of this game, but that would be a lie. There's not much to this game. What I want to see is the person who made this game do art for some game or another, possibly also staring the indie ninja. That could be neat.

great character art, background art, animation. Combat and boss quite simple, not clear feedback on health. And with such gorgeous animation, would have liked to see cooler attack and death or just more of that art!

Really beautiful!

The movement feels a bit slow, the music and sound effects were great.
The attacking could hav been nice to hold down the mouse button and have a cooldown timer between the shots.

But again, really beautiful game!

Really beautiful game and artstyle. The music really fitted to your theme.  A Healthbar  would have been helpful. All in all a really fanatastic game with a cool setting and creative ,well done Visuals!Great Work!

This looks and sounds really nice. My only things are being able to know what the controls are before hand and for some kind of indication to your health. I think it's 2 hits? But still, for one person, this is really awesome

The art style is phenomenal! Since it's a solo project with such art, I easily let the lack of some polishing touches (like screenshake as Szym also mentioned)  pass. Well done!

This looks awesome ! Loved the visual style & the music fit very nicely.
The parallax backgound looks soooo great <3

My only small feedback is that it could use more player feedback when you take damages against the boss (maybe a little screenshake, a cute "ouch" sound...)

Appart from that it's a really great work especially solo. Wish it would have been a bit longer I would have love to play more of it :)

Loved the visual style and audio.  Felt very "cuphead" :D

I wish the part leading up to the boss had been longer so you would have more time to learn how the player controlls.

It was also a bit hard to make out what made you take damage from the boss.

Overall, great game :D
