One of the most creative games this Jam! Digging up the graves takes a bit too long for my taste, but besides that it’s a really nice game. You move slower for every grave you uncover, don’t know whether this is intended. Oh, and please make the camera a bit smoother.

Great concept, really like the retro graphics, and gameplay loop is promising, You should add a way to escape with the treasure without getting caught i think. and the actual process of digging up the graves needs some work, felt unresponsive and inconsistent in art style.

Great work though, this could be a great project to update.

Hey, thanks for trying out our game, your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Those are definitely changes we plan on implement in the future we tried to keep it to the minimum of the game loop for the jam as it is our first game (even tho we got a bit late time-wise haha)!

For the digging part, the "unresponsiveness" of the digging is wanted since you need to mash your spacebar/enter/A button on a gamepad a lot to dig up one level .

I like the game loop a lot! I only managed to raid a couple of tombs (high score: 44) then I was so slow it seemed impossible to get away from the skeletons. If it was possible to dump the goods somewhere (either a specific place or just right where you are standing) to regain speed I would’ve definitely tried to complete the whole level.

And yep, that asset pack sure is nice! ;) good job with the audio too, that’s one spooky soundtrack! :)

I like the risk reward gameplay, having somewhere you can deposit your riches before you continue digging could make it even better. I had some trouble with digging at first as it felt unresponsive (you have to press space multiple times before anything happens). Good concept!

Hey, thanks for trying out our game !

We definitely plan on having a kind of "saving your riches" option by exiting the graveyard with the doors above the player at the beginning later  and having other "levels" instead of just this first graveyard!

Thanks for your feedback!!!

Score: 35. That grave keeper gets too fast! Graphics remind me of good ol' games, I would also make the "digging" interface match the art style. Sometimes it felt like the controls were not responding fast enough. Good job guys!

Thanks for trying out our game !!!!

If you want a bit of challenge, the highest score we got during the playtests was 58!

It's a feature that the games tend to feel like they "don't respond fast enough" as you dig up more and more riches you are slowed down and a delay is applied between each movement, so you need to be strategic about which grave you dig up while keeping the keeper at a healthy distance, the keeper only gets faster than the player around ~55 riches (score) IIRC

Graphics-wise this was definitely the vibe we were going for with the tileset! We plan on making the artstyle more consistent in the future too!
