Neat take on the theme!
Great take on the theme, you found some nice assets to use and put it all together extremely well in under 3 hours.
But since it doesn't seem to say what crime has been committed, how do you correlate a suspect to a crime? especially when they all have prior convictions, it felt like i had to just randomly pick, but I am probably missing something here.
Yeah, probably missed an intro... every crime is a murder. You should take into look the profile (time servedin prison might help), using metal detector and finding something suspicious might be also a clue. And lastly, if you interrogate someone, and it doesn't cooperate, odds are it is hiding something. Some innocents might not cooperate at interrogatory, but have better profiles/scan results. Had very few minutes left, and I wanted to save them in case upload failed, but I did wanted to have an intro on who you are and what are you trying to do, lacked of time for that. Thanks for your feedback!
Nice conept of game, also nice to know another GDEV.
🤗
interesting take on the theme! i liked the sound effects and level of polish for the time limit. nicely done. the feedback of the buttons and the fleshed out backstories and responses were great! i accidentally jailed an innocent though. honestly I can't believe this was done in such a short time! programming something like this would take me forever
Trijam: "Take a note that the time you need for planning, building and uploading the game doesn't count in those 3 hours, it's purely development time." This is crucial. It took me almost the same time planning than dev time, actually. I wrote all the stories, interactions and possibilities before even starting the game, so I almost didn't have to make decisions when creating the game, just using the gamedev document I carefully created. I even cut the amount of characters and stories to reduce the scope and reach it in the time limit. Also, GDevelop really helps to speed up the process, alongside using only pre-made assets. I also wanted to give the theme a twist like you did. Thanks a lot for playing!
that's awesome. yeah you really did give the theme a creative twist! I love it. next time I think I'll write out a design document! my design document was a sticky note haha
