A nice 45 minutes of puzzles. Hit the exact right difficulty.

and a serious story, this time!? we're breaking some new ground here, gat diddly dang
i do not often play puzzle games but this one goes down smooth. cool to see you do a non-actiony game (although i like actiony games)
i was unable to solve the second puzzle in bamboo introduction zone. it is impossible
also somehow i have also played another bunny-based navigation game vaguely recently
As an avid shipper of Mokou x Keine I have to subtract some points (lol).
Jokes aside, this is some stellar work. Lovely sprites, chill music ideal to solve puzzles to, funny dialogue and fun puzzle mechanics. Oh, and like my second favorite ship front and center. Good Shit.
Really well done. I thought the difficulty scaling in particular was great.
One thing that stood out to me...there's a puzzle where the idea is figuring out that non-rotten carrots float. The puzzle starts with a rotten carrot in the water, so it can be assumed the player knows that behavior. As far as I remember, there was no puzzle that started with a non-rotten carrot on the water, so I'm guessing the idea is for the player to find this behavior themselves by just seeing what happens when a non-rotten carrot is thrown in water.... But I spent about 10-15 minutes just being confused since I assumed they would behave the same lol. That is a funny assumption to punish in puzzle and was a neat "eureka moment," but I'm a little torn. I maybe would've had a separate, previous instance where this floating behavior is shown, so at least some aspect of the puzzle is preserved, but it's not as potentially obtuse... But I guess it also kind of inherently makes sense in hindsight, like how logs float, but rotten logs sink... I can see both sides.
Anyway, enough rambling about one tiny thing. Very fun use of the theme as well across many aspects of the game, not just mechanics. Great sprite work; Tewi is a gremlin. I loved the two versions of the same theme while in and out of puzzles. The visuals and sound came together in this very pleasant, laid-back way. Stellar work.
what can I say? this feels like a game that you could sell!
I particularly like Tewi's dialogue, the art and music are fantastic too! And it played flawlessly through wine 5 STARS!!!!!
One of the best games this jam. It was a blast playing through it. I found it quite easy, but the presentation is good and it all feels nice and fast-paced to play, so I got into the 'gaming zone' where I didn't really care if I had to use my brain or not. Just swooshing between puzzles, pressing buttons to make bunnies go go go. I'm grateful for the fast-forward feature.
Still, it might have been nice to have some more difficult post-game puzzles. As it is, I can't really tell if the concept has a potential for difficult puzzles. Maybe adding things like switches that the bunny can trigger, moving parts, a second bunny that the bunny can collide with would do it? Something to make the game state more complicated than just the bunny's current position and direction. In any case, at ~30 minutes play time, it doesn't overstay it's welcome while still being a satisfying chunk of game with an impressive amount of mechanics and assets for its length.
Clear time for my first run:
I'm still sinking my teeth into this since puzzle games are most certainly not my forte, but this has a simply outstanding feel, aesthetic and polish which fully-fledged indie games would be jealous of... I am stunned you pulled this together in two weeks.
The puzzles and mechanics are easy to pick up and hard to master, and just challenging enough to pique the brain while not being overly frustrating. The art is simply gorgeous; super poppy, squishy and cute with a dash of mischief in there somewhere. This may also be some of my favorite music I've seen in a Jam entry so far; I love the bouncy bass and the playful high notes harmonizing with each other... and don't get me started on the dynamic mixing. Simply gorgeous.
Y'all should be proud of yourselves.
Fantastic, high quality work as usual! I loved the puzzles and the varied challenges and mechanics. Some puzzles took me a while, and that’s a good thing. New elements were introduced gently, and that’s the kind of thing I also want to attain in my own games. All the art is great, from font choice to lights to sprites, and I adore the bouncy sprites and animations. I’m taking notes here. And dynamic music? Yes please. Finally, I’m glad Reisen and Youmu were able to sort things out! That was cute.
Full points for fun! The puzzles in there make me feel so incredibly clever as the different puzzle elements are introduced.
Really liking all the theming of each area too, really makes each puzzle memorable.
The tilesets and the art are really mindblowing, and the music is a real jam to solve puzzles to!
also yes i want the medal, it's in my nature. it's literally my name
It's incredible that you two managed to do so much in just two weeks! The visuals are AMAZING and so is the music! Some of the puzzles were quite challenging, although it would have been nice for a few more with the katana (but, as I understand it, you didn't have enough time for that, so it's ok!). The story was really cute, as well!
This was great! I thought the difficult curve was really nice, and while i personally would have appreciated a few more esoteric things to end on, (since the ending didn't require doing all the puzzles anyway,) I read other comments about not having enough time dedicated to making the content, and I fully get that, lol. The ONE ISSUE i had is just that i repeatedly walked into the path to area 1 from area 3 while sprinting around before I could see it was a stage transition, and there wasn't a quick warp back from area 1 to area 3. but that's not really a serious problem.
Immaculate vibes, and I loved how bouncy the art was.
A FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC puzzle game.
Firstly I wanted to get visuals first, they are fantastic, the pixel work is done so well, its all bright and cheery, animations are bouncy, and I absolutely adore the character portraits (especially Tewi's shit-eating grin.)
The gameplay is a really solid idea, though I think difficulty is inconsistent but I can't tell if its because of the design or me not being good at puzzle games. I got very stuck in some levels in Area 2 but had little trouble in Area 3.
The story is really short yet sweet too. It kinda resonates with me a bit. Love them gay people. (though as a kagumoku fan I have to dock a trillion points for making them break up /j /j /j)
Another complaint is the music. It sounds really good but it gets repetitive as you try and solve the puzzles. I think there could've been some variety, like idk... different layers for the different levels if that makes sense.
Overall a really fantastic game that honestly, feels like a demo to a much bigger game in the best way possible. I kinda want more of this.
I fully agree about the difficulty curve. Had to cut half the areas I wanted to do, and didn't have time to finish the real challenging level(s) in area 3, all because I spent that time building all the levels as areas you could walk around in when I could've just had a simple level select menu :( Sacrifices made in the name of The Vibes...
Kaguya and Mokou will get back together after a dramatic trading of blows and an emotional argument about what it means to live forever
Loved the pixel art! I've always had a soft spot for games or projects in pixel art, reminds me of my old modding days.
The puzzles are great fun, not being too easy but not extremely difficult (despite me spending 10 minutes on one puzzle with the bamboo tubing)
Definitely worth the hour of gameplay!
