The trial and error previously used vibes are really well done on this. I also love all the questions that torn bit of tape on side B create. Nice design choices, and great visual storytelling.
I’m happy you think so. I was hoping that this would come across as a “real” item which has been used in the game’s world. I wonder what stories players/GMs come up with about the previous owners …
not gonna lie, i’d have fun punching holes through the wheels and “rewinding” the “tape” with a pencil 😂 a great prompt for some physical roleplay and a neat little artifact!
I mean, if the print comes out symmetrical enough, that should work in theory…
I’m not sure the card will fit back in the deck that way, but I love the thought of folks making this artefact their own—be sure to send me a pic of the tape’s fate ;)
As a child of the 80s, I found this instantly relatable. The logo has me super nervous about what happens if the tape unwinds, but luckily it looks like these cassettes are magically foolproof.
Just crossing out "Second Chance" conveys a novel's worth of feels. Beautiful little touches like that abound; this is just great.
Funnily enough, before I decided to rip off part of the instructions on the back side, unwinding and permanently jamming your cassette player was one of the placeholder Bad Things™, so that’s certainly one way you could take this ;)
The nostalgic feels are so real with this. Including the masking tape with handwritten songs on it!
I love how there's a balance between Side A and Side B. The tape could be overpowered except you really have to think about if it's really worth the risk. It's great how much oomph this could add to a game without huge long explanations.
To be honest, I wasn’t even conscious of that contrast when writing/designing it—I guess I’ll chalk it up to Bob Ross-esque serendipity 😅
(Originally, the text layout was supposed to be an attempt at “environmental/incidental” storytelling, illustrating a past of regular folks testing out and documenting the limits of this artefact.)

I love this - so much style!
I’m happy you enjoy it ^^

The part that's ripped off is so on-point, too XD
Thank you ^^
I’m so happy the design seems to have found its audience and has its intended effect.
Fantastic stuff, great juxtaposition of the mechanical elements and a hand written font.
Thank you for those kind words ^^

Amazing layout mate!
Thank you so much ^^
That's definitely where most of the design time went 😅
I think this is my favorite entry to the jam. It's so on theme and effective.
Aw, thank you, that's very nice of you to say ^^
