This game has a lot of potential! Unfortunately progression is far too slow to be enjoyable, it took me a long time (upwards of an hour I think) to "max out" (have two god gears, blowtorch ++, and an extreme gear), and I spent most of it babying the extreme gear. Some intermediate "global upgrades", such as increasing overall money gain rate or reducing the deterioration rate of gears, would go a long way to helping things. Other ideas such as a bit of automation would help too, but I understand would be a bit much for a game jam. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback, yea the progression is definitely the weakest part of the game, automation was planned, and so were more upgrades, but I ran out of time unfortunately
I highly doubt you actually went through the same experience as us players did. I'm saying this because progression is really difficult, and the extreme gear needs really much attention because it dies in 10 seconds. Since the healing takes so long, the gameplay loop becomes really tedious. A clear goal for the game is great, because most people doesn't want to stick around for more than a few minutes. And if people don't think they've experienced it all, or feels like they missed a crusial point, they may rate it worse than it actually is.
Loved the effort you put into the UI for the items though, looks super duper smooth!
Yea, unfortunately I didn’t quite get the chance to playtest the game after adding in the extreme gear onwards. Thanks for the feedback
Very good interpretation of the theme
I love the sound effects and feel that it really carries the atmosphere and reminded me a lot of that one specific machine SCP which is probably why I enjoyed this so much. As you said in another comment, the extreme gear did seem to be bugged as I wasn't really making a profit from it. I also think that there should be more interactive things to do, and possibly even add some story of what the machine could be (it seems really mysterious and intrigues me! I could see some potential twists). The sensitivity values for the camera a UI did seem weird to me though, but that could potentially be my mouse. Still though, I adore this idea and might even possibly make my own little game based off this (if that's fine with you of course). Good job!
Actually yea, now that you mention it, I do see the resemblance to the SCP. Might be a cool direction to take the game in, maybe you can refine some parts into rarer versions instead of buying them, maybe there’s a cost associated with doing so. Also, if you wanna make something similar go for it, it’s not a very original idea anyways imo, and if you end up doing so send it to me on Discord (bilal1944), I’d be happy to play it. Thanks for the feedback!
Excellent, this is really well done
A solid entry! Excellent implementation of the theme. I’m not a huge fan of idle games but it was enjoyable. I really wanted the repair speed to be faster :P
Thanks for sharing this :D
yes, thanks for playing, I saw you play on stream for the last little bit, the extreme gear was bugged, it should not have broken so fast, and yea repairing is a bit slow too
Nice game.
Having some quests may be interesting to keep the interest up
The character controller is very good!
Ohh, good game! Very smooth
