Very cool idea and the way the controls were defined. Congratulations on the effort!
Interesting game and idea, nice graphics
errors:
- in start menu, buttons can't be clicked by mouse (animation works but no action)
- when you receive opportunity to use teleport, there no reload time, so you can spam teleport funktion and very fast complete level or even broke game
Good job! it was really interesting to play😃👍
Thank you for the feedback and for playing the game!! ^^
Yep, I forgot to deactivate the teleport in slow down time and to add a variable for limiting its use. But I implemented an out-of-screen death, so, if you use more than twice in a row, you´ll die.
Also, I forgot to deactivate the animation at menu bottons ^^!
I love it! Definitely the most polished and elaborate endless-runner-esque game from this jam that I've played so far!
a very cool game with an amazing visuals. if anything i would recommend is not showing the tips every time i die its kinda throw me off the game when i have to go though everything again and the game slow down.
other than that its a very cool game. good luck with jam 🙌
Fun game! The graphics look great! The controls for the teleportation mechanic was bit weird, but I guess that's just the limitation of the two button controls theme.
Thank you!! ^^
Yep, the limitation of two buttons make the combo necessary to avoid activating wrongly the teleport by pressing the buttons in platform movements. The trick in the teleport combo is press J+J +K (or K+K+J) , but mantaining "K" (or "J") pressed a little bit more time. The level 2a and 2b has "a lot" of space and time to get used to this controls and for training.
Other trick, not told in the game. In air, it´s possible to make more teleport movements only with J+K if you are fast enough. And there´s a "hack" involving that: when the time is slowed down, you can travel almost all the levels enterely with teleportation, hehehe. I forgot to deactivate the device in slow down time messages. I used that to "fast travel" in order to check last changes at the end of the level XDDD.
Nice little game. The game is fun to play and the graphics is really good. Also, I really appreciated the game narrative. A good game overall!
Graphics look so good! Music and sound effects fit really well. But the amount of camera shake is too high. There's also a lot of residual jittering.
Why didn't you just use conventional controls, like a/d or left/right arrows? The j/k keys are uncomfortably close together. So, I had to use both index fingers. The dash control is really fiddly. Post-jam, I'd just add a third button to the game.
I´m still learning, so I appreciate a lot your feedback!! (Don´t know what residual jittering is, but I will search for it).
I used this keys because for me it´s better together than separate, but I see your point... Hehe. The dash control for me, that I played the levels maybe 100 times, it´s ok. For me it was difficult to find and code a combo that could not be confused with the usual jumps.
Check out this Godot document about jitter, stutter, and lag. Even if you're not using Godot, it'll help you understand those problems.
It´s indeed really hard to achive. It was first planned to make 5 levels (level 2 and 4 with two different paths), but I ran out of time because familiar issues during the jam. So I rised the difficult level.
Oh, and there´s a bug. Level 3 is the last level of the game, but instead of the "Game Complete" animated screen, it returns to level 2A (the crew rooms). Sorry!!
