- Enormously impressive proof of concept. The game's tone and design are immediately reminiscent of older dungeon crawling games like Daggerfall and I was immediately endeared to it. Seriously impressed by what you've been able to execute in a week - you've got enemies, combat, stamina, traps, multiple items all in place. Please keep working on this title!

This is a great one! I liked the torch-weapon interaction, overall atmosphere. Here is my detailed feeback:
A lot of your feedback was in the plans, just not enough time. I wanted 3 weapons, 2 attacks each. One a hold heavy attack and the other fast. Movement was originally going to be slower I just didnβt have time to balance anything after getting the enemy AI working.
Torch part was because I wanted to have the torches run out so the player would have to get new torches off the wall or find fuel. But no time so I disabled the torch swapping on all the torches except the one tutorial one.
Next time need to plan better and not try and do too much for a jam.
I would love to see where this one is going :)
Really well done for a game jam game. Quite an ambitious idea, but you accomplished a good bit!
Really liked the art and the AI of the enemies, great job on this one. Cool demo, gg. (you should put the story inside the game, not just into the description)
All the art are premade assets available on itch and sketchfab except the cultists weβre made by the artist in the credits.
The combat in this actually feels great. The UI works well for everything and I really enjoyed the art style and atmosphere. It would be very cool to see this expanded on with some more story and interactivity. Nicely done!
Gives me old elder scroll vibes, neat game.
Originally was trying to get Daggerfall vibes, but for the combat I ended up just sort of copying Dark Souls.
I think this is game has good gameplay and spooky atmosphere. I would watch Markipliers video where he play this game and get jumpscared by the skeleton running from the dark (i got it)
One thing I didn't want to have were jump scares, but if I'm being honest it does seem like the lo-fi/retro horror community likes them. Originally the skeletons had sort of a scream sfx, like the intro Daggerfall dungeon which the look of the combat was sort of based on, but it was too loud and gave away there was even an enemy down that hallway so I just removed that SFX. I could've set a trigger so when the 2nd skeleton gets close to the player it triggers the sound though.
It's okay. When skeleton just silently run towards from the darkness it's very scary
Yeah the idea was to teach the player that enemies would be hidden in the dark so be ready, but that was when the dungeon was going to a lot longer.
Interesting base concept. It could surely be worked upon to become a nice game in the future.
Very well done game! Hard! Try my game (playable in the browser), it has stairs and a flashlight, but you also have to find it. :-)
