Really hard game! I think the jump is delayed and make even harder survive. Good job btw

Its a good Game Idea But its Really difficult, But its solid.

Ranked 5th globally. One thing to note is that the movement is a bit clunky.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah we ran out of time to further polish the gameplay sadly. This is also why the game is really difficult.

I mean it's alright. The controls a bit flimsy though and it seems like you can just spam the shit out of space to maximize your damage. The space to shoot and W to jump messes with my brain since I want to jump using both. Why is the player even facing the other direction when moving backwards? I can see how you tried to do the cuphead approach but the controls in that game are really snappy and it's supposed to be played with a controller. You should've just made it always shoot to the right with a different key like for ex. M1. The challenge of dodging bullets and shooting should be enough.  The cloud collision are also aaaaaaaaa
I guess it's a game but the theme soccer is applied really loosely

Developer

Our team really disliked the idea of a game based on Soccer so that explains the weak theme incorporation in our game x)

But yeah apart from that, we ran out of time so a lot was left to be desired in polish / gameplay. We will provide a lot of fixes soon tho!

I really like the cup-head inspiration (I assume).  Good work on putting this together in 3 days.

I would agree with the other comment that it's actually very difficult. I think the control scheme isn't very intuitive, and having to manage moving, jumping and shooting with one hand is not easy at all, and on top of that you must dodge the enemy attacks :o

I think if there were fewer gaps between clouds, the player could focus more on attacking and dodging with intention - that would probably feel a bit better.

Still, good effort overall

Thank you for feedback! Cup head inspiration was actually accidental (i know the game but we didn't use it as reference).

And yeah the difficulty will be adjusted really soon, since it is a mess rn. Interesting to see you played with one hand. I personally played the movements and jumping with left hand and shooting with right hand.

We will take your suggestions into account, thanks for playing :D We appreciate that a lot.

I liked the Cuphead-style action here, and it is nice to see another game with action-platformer-style fighting. I found the game rather difficult. If you make any updates to the game, consider making it easier at the start and gradually get more difficult. The friendly art-style was also rather neat.

Developer

Thanks for playing our game and for your feedback!

And yes, the game is way too difficult right now, so we will be working on a lot of fixes soon, dw!

I think the clouds are a bit confusing, it looks like the bigger clouds can be jumped over like the small ones. It becomes a bit hard to manage both the jumping and the shooting and the avoiding quickly, but it's a fun idea, hope you had fun in the jam!

Really interesting feedback!

I didn't even realize that it could be such a big issue tbh , so thanks for telling us! We will do a lot of fixes soon, so I will add it to the list.

And yeah we had a lot of fun in this Jam as a team, not thanks to the abysmal theme tho.
