This feels a bit like Agar/Slither.io/etc :)
Love chemistry/atom themes, it doesn't feel as brain-dead as the other games!!!
Biggest issue is def the control system, with minor tweaking regarding movement/control/camera smoothing it would be perfect.
the controls are way to inaccurate for me to play because i just kept orbiting around my mouse and couldn’t run into the other atoms.
Thanks for playing, controls being slippery is something we are pretty aware about and might try and fix after the jam.
I liked this game; if you continue on it I think it'd benefit from a minimap to help guide direction, sometimes picking up a bunch of speed it's difficult to change direction when you pass something ya wanna merge with. Music was fun too!
A minimap is a pretty good idea and we do understand the problems with the slippery controls that we can probably fix by reducing the speed a bit/adding in a quicker speed decrease when you aren't clicking around. Thanks for taking a look at our game!
Nice game:
Pros:
The gameplay was simple and fun.
The graphics are neat.
The music is fun.
The polish is nice.
Cons:
The gameplay feels quite like agar.io
When you get bigger there is a huge lag in the game.
Yup, thanks for playing. As we have mentioned prior the lag is due to the rigidbodies that we used to make the atoms having to do physics calculations that start to lag the game as they greatly increase. We always kind of knew it would feel alot like agar.io but we wanted to see how we could put our own spin on it.
Hello from Agario veteran)
Glad to hear it!
This is pretty neat, with a full menu, tutorial, music, and gameplay, really good work.
I liked the concept in general, the time is too short for beginners and controls with the mouse are not as responsive, but that is very easily fixable.
Good luck !!!
Thanks for taking a look!
The music is really great. Too bad the loop feels to short.
I like the game I wish I had a bit more time till critical
Good job on the UI
Thanks for the look!
I liked the concept of your game. Very interesting design of the main menu. Good music. I found it difficult to control the mouse.
Yup, most people seem to have trouble with the input as it is quite slippery and fast. Thanks for taking a look however!
Fun gameplay, nice and unified art/menus, appreciate the music as well. As discussed in other comments, got to 46k, then it was hard to play, but such problems are part of what makes game jams fun, so I don't see it as a negative, just giving a heads up :) Well done on the game to the whole team.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Funny gameplay, but hard mouse control. Maybe use keyboard at least?
We'll make sure to consider it, thanks!
pretty fun to control, cool music
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
This certainly has the makings of a good game! I appreciated the fact that the nuclei actually have electrons orbiting them. My only tip as someone who's made a similar game for a previous jam is that the visuals should instinctively indicate if you can/can't absorb another atom, I feel like having to read the size of other atoms slows down the gameplay a bit. Either way this is a neat game so good job!
Yup, certainly understood. We were just having a bit of a hard time figuring out a good way to implement easier intuitive sizing, so we added in the size to help a bit. But certainly having both intuitive sizing and a size number would be best. Thanks for the look however!
Great Concept and was a bun of fun to play through.
Thanks, happy to hear it!
Very cool concept ! A bit hard to handle at first.
Had fun. Good work ! :)
Ps : The developement console kept opening up. maybe you submited the wrong build ?
Dev console is due to the regular version of the game not totally loading for the webgl version. We submitted the dev version as it was able to load and we didn't have the energy to debug the issue.
That's completly understandable. ;)
Love the concept, UI is really polished for a weekend! Gameplay is challenging but with some finer tuning to controls could be pretty solid
Pretty cool concept! However, at this point after 45000 the game starts lagging to a point that is a bit difficult to play.
Thanks! We ran out of time to do a lot of performance evaluation and cleanup, but a performance boost is planned for the future.
