Wow this game is amazing!

The controls feel so smooth. I think that's not just a testament to the mechanics but also to how precise and careful the level design is. It's made for particular movements that the player naturally flows into, so pulling a level off always feels extremely slick.

The graphics are beautiful. And really help you to get into the flow. Everything feels just.. responsive, and that's through the coordination of heavy visual and audio cues.

I managed to get to level 19, which is far further than I thought I'd get 😅 I  think the short levels really helped to push me further, and try and get as far as possible.

Honestly I think this game is too good for this jam, but I really enjoyed it!

10/10 fingers are now very sweaty

I suck at these kinds of games so the controls screwed with my head too much and I had to tap out at the 3rd level 😢.

The game is very well made though, the sprite work is nice, the sound effects are good, the animations are beautiful, and it's an interesting implementation of the modifier.

But as a "So Bad It's Good" game, it's just not nearly bad enough. It just feels like a solid submission to a platformer jam.

I liked what I played but I'm just not a platformer player. Good work!

Thank you!

this isn’t ‘so bad it’s good’, this is unironically good, smh my head 😤😤😤

but honestly this is a pretty good game, I didn’t manage to finish it though because I am horrible at these sorts of games, but like this game is a genuinely good game. not sure what else I can add here which hasn’t already been said.

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Really like the gameplay mechanics but got a bit though for me after a few levels. Graphics are also gorgeous; congratz on the entry!

Great game! The movement mechanics are really fun.

Very difficult though. I think I got to about level 19 before I called it quits.

Well done! Great aesthetic, really fun gameplay, and the controls feel so nice. This is genuinely a great game!

That's amazing how such slow movement, and simple controls create so fast and intense gameplay, very cool.

This is such a fantastically made game! Really amazing  job, I'm so impressed! Feels like it's only a step away from a full release game!

Finally beat level 20 only to realize there were medals and I only had 1 hahah, great game! Kinda wish there was a leaderboard.

Player character is too bad. So monsters seems to have gotten a scared and forgotten how to attack. It's a game that's too good to be bad.

Feels like something I'd play on coolmath-games at school, this is awesome!

Wow, what a fantastic game! Played through all the levels, got 4 medals and am tempted to keep playing for more.

The mechanics of this game are so naturally fluid its incredible. Going to download it to complete in my spare time, not sure how many levels there are but I would pay for a full game of this with a load of levels.

Such a good game love how smooth you made the movement nearly too good to be seen near this jam of all places :)

Nononono, Mr. The Noise, you don't understand! I was refering to noise, not The Noise!

BTW this game is actually really good. Kinda unexpected to see a game this good in a game jam called "So Bad It's Good". In fact, I can't think of anything that is bad about this game, which could be bad since being bad is also one of the criteria, but then since bad is good and good is bad so it's actually good????? (I'm confused)

Developer

Thank you! It had a ton of jank early on, but I ended up polishing it up too much, haha.

Also, the game itself doesn't feel much related to the modifier, and there is actually a simple way to fix that. Just make the enemies actually create noises that are as annoying as possible. (Spam metal pipe sound, chipi chipi chapa chapa, amogus, etc.) This way, it not only makes your game more related to this year's modifier but also justify more for the protagonist's commitment to genocide.

That's some good feedback, but I can't help but feel as though meme sounds would hurt the experience. Although, maybe that's the point of the theme...
