That was such a cool experience, from the moment where you walk backwards and know that it's intended, up to when you manage a few levels and start falling without hitting the killbox. The voice overs are hilarious, I totally love that idea! Music is quite loud and it was rough to hear the VOs, I only later found out via comments section that you could reduce the volume in the menu (but cool you have a menu for that, we don't :'D). I'd love to play an updated version some time, really enjoyed playing!
The immersion is top level! I laughed so much at the discussion of how you shouldn't tell the player they are bad, even if they're VERY bad :D Maybe that's why I had this piece of conversation twice :D
I would only probably love to have checkpoints more often, but that's because I am pretty bad at platformers haha. And it would be awesome to have some additional reaction for player doing something like dying/falling/going on the wrong direciton too often, but it is of course not an idea for a 48 hour game jam :))
Thank you so much for your kind words! We had a lot of ideas like the ones you mentioned and had to compromise because of time issues sadly. We are currently thinking about working on a full demo with more levels, different biomes and adding the mechanics that are available right now but chose not to use. There was dialogue for standing still too long but I dont think anyone has noticed that :D
Words can not describe how much I enjoyed this. Did you guys actually decide for the voice over later or did you plan it from the start?
Really cool concept! I thought also the music is too loud, but then I found out that you have menu for that, rarely implemented in other jam games (mine including). Great job!
Cool idea with the gradually changing mechanics, but the music was way too loud - couldn't hear you guys talking during gameplay :D
Oh my gosh the moment I get used to walking backwards just to have the character get fixed and turn around was pretty cool :D
I like the game. Especially that you can watch it being fixed and listen in on the developers' conversation.
I love games that break the fourth wall. They're really hard to pull off, as you have to anticipate everything the player will be thinking and doing. But you managed it!
I turned to my fiancee and said "Do you think it's intentional that we've been falling for so long?" -- Only to have the developers immediately acknowledge it.
Perfect writing, and could very well be a full-length game. :)
Hey SneakyCherryStudios!
Wow, that’s so awesome to hear! We’re thrilled that you feel like everything worked out so well—that really means a lot to us! 😊
And yes, that timing seems absolutely perfect, haha! Moments like these make all the hard work totally worth it!
Stead - the story write for this game - will definitely be over the moon about your kind words! Feedback like yours is the best thing we could ask for. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us—you guys rock! 🚀
If you have any more feedback or ideas, don’t hesitate to share. We’re excited to see what you come up with next!
Cheers,
Tidali of CrowfoxCreatives🦅🦊🎮
I really liked the concept of having a broken game and devs fixing it real time :) But I couldn't hear you guys that well due to the background music. Also I can't enter through the last door, is that intended or not 😅 Still, great job!
