I think the idea of the randomly broken mechanic at the beginning of the game is great!

Nice little game, a bit too easy but solid nontheless!

The look of the game is nice and you always have a handicap which fits to the theme. But I can run through the blocks and skip jumping part and would have wished for more variatio of multiple levels, but I know time is short.

Nice little game. I'm not sure if the incorrectly displayed text on the "core mechanic cards" is intentional? The mechanics work, although the double jump didn’t always register. The player movement could use some refinement, but everything functions overall. It fits the theme well. Solid game jam entry!

Thank you for playing! Yes the messed up text was intentional. The idea was that the evil AI is also messing with your interface, making you have to guess what the correspending effect might be from the remaining info.

Yeah, I think sometimes the double jump doesn't register because the coyote time is just a bit too short. I also wanted to try restricting player movement in the air a little bit, but I think that might have backfired to make movement feel a little awkward and unresponsive. Oh well :)

Having to give up a core mechanic is an intersting idea. For me the double jump sometimes just did not work but I like the general theme of this game :)

The concept is amazing, can’t wait to see where this goes

Another good take on the theme. The game itself was a little bit on the harder side for me
Didnt read the credits.txt but i liked the city level as well.

Great idea removing "normal" game features! This really adds to the chellange!

I had a really hard time completing the first run due to my bad choices but I managed to do it! 😂

Developer(+1)

Wow, congrats on managing anyways! Your experience is exactly what we were hoping for, bad choices sometimes make for more interesting gameplay anyways ;)

funny idea but kinda sad that it's the same level twice :( you could have added a checkpoint at half of the level or something, that way it doesnt feel too repetitive :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback! Our goal was for the level to offer a lot of different ways to finish it, so that the player would get familiar and could plan out how to get to the goal with more mechanics disabled, as well as make smart choices on which mechanics to disable :)

Great potential! Feels frustrating in a good way, haha :D I hope you'll add more levels in the future :)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!

Super meat boy vibes. Really nice, i have enjoyed it

Well rounded game. It was rather easy, since I basically took the same route three times with minor inconveniences, but that didn't make it less fun or the idea worse. Cool Game!

Developer(+1)

I feel you, we originally considered requiring 5-10 rounds for a win, but were worried it would get too frustrating in the context of a jam game, so we settled on just 3 :) I'm glad you enjoyed the idea!

Having the different effects you pick stack is a really nice gimmick! I could really see this being extended with more effects and levels

Developer

Thank you! We had a bunch more ideas we just didn't have time for, like everyone else probably :)
