The narrative and wandering through a womb-like environment—definitely a very cool approach.

I went a little crazy searching for the last memory, but I’m guessing that’s exactly what you intended.
Cool idea and nice voice acting!

Developer

Thank you, that was my first time voice acting, happy that you liked it c;

Putting the last memory there was intended yes.
I wanted the player to backtrack for it a bit. :D

Unfortunately can't play due to black screen issue (maybe it's just me idk). If you need further details for debugging please reach out ;)

I liked the more narrative take you took on the theme! And props on even managing to port the game from C# to GDScript in time, that's quite the feat!

I only wished there was a bit more visibility, I had to raise my screen's brightness quite a bit to see enough. Also I really enjoyed the spinning floating synapses, what a collectable that is! (Camera mouse movement did work in my browser btw and I'm just ony my laptop's touchpad)

Developer(+2)

Ah okay that good to know! I should've considered a brightness calibration in the beginning. Or just a menu with a slider.. :D
So nice to hear that you could tell they are synapses!
The camera not working is an issue of the web build, sadly. But you can download the desktop version if you'd like!

Eventho the game is kinda kaputt (Sorry to hear that btw) it was pretty cool. The quality of the voicetrack is pretty neat

Developer(+1)

Haha yes, it's kaputt :D
I normally only sing, but voice acting was fun too, I should maybe do it more often c:

Submitted(+1)

That was a quite disorientating experience.

Developer

I'm sooorry, normally the camera should've moved with the mouse D:

Sad to see that you had some problems with the WebGL build. We also had quiet the trouble with that.

I'm always amazed if someone manages to do voice acting for a Jam game! Looking forward to playing the working version some day!

Developer

The working version is already out! :D
As a desktop version, on https://pauwdah.itch.io/broken-brain

I hope browsers will support more in the future c:

Really nice atmosphere. The game gave me a bit of a "creepy Minecraft" feeling, which was interesting. I missed being able to use the mouse to look around. Not sure if that was due to the conversion to GDScript, a browser issue, or if it was intentional. Either way, it kind of fits the kaputt theme in its own way. Well done on creating a solid game and "Hut ab" that you converted it in that short amount of time!

Developer(+1)

The Camera was due to the browsers limitation. The GDScript version runs locally also with camera movement xD

Well done, we did a similar angle with the memories in the Coroner, I like it.

Developer

Uh i just played your game too, i liked it. I was like "oh,no" at the end, when the player gets inspected too... xD

Thank you for your submission! Unfortunately, we cannot accept downloadable content. As stated in our rules:

Submission Requirements: Games must be submitted through itch.io and must run in the browser. All game engines are allowed, but submissions must not rely on third-party developments.

Would it be possible for you to make your game accessible in the browser?

We'd love to see your work included!

Looking forward to your update!

Developer

I did it just in time! :D
But the browser version sadly still had features missing due to the limitation of the format.
Missing is: "Fog, Camera Movement, fmod sounds."
Even though the local version might not count in the entry, I would still love you to try and play it (Headphones recommended) c:

I'm glad you made it, even if not everything worked out—but that's just part of a game jam! We're looking forward to playing your game.
