Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous and shown in a random order.

  • Feedback submitted as Indie Legion.
  • It was not clear at first that it's an add-on to Tabletop Sim, however, these are beautiful, lively renders of the gameplay that make me interested. The overhead view of the board is a bit busy, but the views with the markers are very engaging.
  • I like the feel, presentation and sticking to the pirate theme! But I still don't know how to go about playing it. That's what is missing from the pitch, all I know is it's a board game.
  • Great looking tabletop simulator mod! Good full width screenshots on the Press Kit. Suggestions: -- Highlight that it's a free mod for one of the world's largest tabletop simulators (which isn't free). -- Cut all the non-core hashtags but add in #TabletopSimulator as that is a key hashtag for this mod -- Add white space (blank lines), makes it much easier to read. -- Redesign the press kit to match the game style.
  • Less hashtags in tweet Only use #pitchyagame during the allotted window Great concept Like the fresh take on board gaming

The tweet had be pretty lost, to be honest. I like the art style and the game themes themselves are very unique. I'd play to those strengths instead of trying to cash in on a bunch of hashtags. If I recall correctly, the Twitter algorithm caps at a certain number (seem to recall 4 hashtags is best? Can't remember for certain...).

I really like the tone you use (i.e. I can hear the pirate voice reading your stuff out). Your tweet is a little messy and has too many hashtags, so I don't really know how the game itself plays. Looks cool though.

P.S.  The line "Yarr… Just Play The Game Matey! Tis Free! " made me laugh in your press kit zip section, but really don't do that :P just give people the link to your full press kit.

I liked that line too and to be honest it made me click through.. I'd actually recommend keeping the line but also including the link underneath.

Agree with the other comments here. It almost seems like there's too much going on - all of the hashtags make it seem like your game is every type of tabletop board game genre at once.

On the other hand, the screenshots look really cool! And pirates + TTRPG sounds dope for sure :)

Really like the perspective that you use to make the board game feel 'in-person'

Jam JudgeSubmitted(+1)

Cool! Though the art seems very cluttered and not unified. The pitch doesn't explain the game much, but imo it's about pirates and it's a board game so probably don't need that much information anyways. Still, it could use more selling points in the pitch tweet than just the name itself. Like for example if you have a cake, you have me sold, but if it's a triple decker chocolate cake, you have me triple-sold!

+ I'd ARRgue the style is there and everything from the map design dotted paths, legends go well together. In fitting with theme.
+ Struck gold with art!

- All the hashtags could have been used for a short description of the game's goal
- The art and card caption feels cluttered

Jam JudgeSubmitted(+1)

I think there to many hashtag then the focus of the game.. Better to have max 2-3 tag and more info.. Also your arts are nice but thay have lots of info.. Maybe clear around and have more simplistic look for the visuals.. People can focus what they need to see.

I really liked the tone! But would like to know more about what the game is and way less hashtags
