- Big fan of this game! I really enjoyed the old-school NES-style platformer vibe!
- I love the idea of this game! It has a great foundation, and i love the art work! You can quite easily skip some major parts of the map with dash jumping diagonally upwards in the direction you want to go. I would look to disable this ability (and all abilities) until its neccesary to use them. Apart from that keep up the good work :)
Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
yes! (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hRAqrsx4zcGsdSY9lAenUsSScFbjMiRVraKBCPJTbzo/edit?usp=sharing)
Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
ok this is actually making me doubt if i did or not
Is your game set to Public so we can see it?

Only used a few spells, I think you should design levels to incorporate them earlier, and have the tutorial be pretty much just one stage. The movement was pretty fluid. I wish there were less used buttons, try combining the buttons to do multiple things, and also I dislike when I have to switch from mouse menuing to keyboard menuing. I liked the game though, the bossfight was a nice surprise. I ganked him with meteor pretty easily though.
This game is nice! Seeing huge potentials here. Also the dash feels very nice and smooth, I am doing tones just for the sake of it! There are a bunch of spells but I wasn't using much of them sadly, feels like fireball was already enough for most situations. Even the boss can be cheesed by backing off and fireball, which is a bit sad.
But anyway, the game is very solid and I would wish to see it developed more! Well done!
In the first few jumps the dash doesn't seem to reach all the way across the gap so i had to wall jump until the dash was recharged so i could dash again to the right. This didn't feel very fluid to me. The game was running a little slowly for me as well. However, you've got a solid base game here. keep integrating player feedback! really good job! keep making games!
This game is great! The movement felt fluid and precise, giving me major Celeste vibes! And the powers were all super creative as well! I loved the lightning power, even if it didn't see any use. I could very much see this as a full game at some point!
The shadow power was a very nice touch as well, swapping in between modes to pass through certain obstacles. Reminded me of the shadow dash from Hollow Knight!
The art was also excellent! Very bright and colorful, which matched the friendly witch vibe very nicely! Same with the music!
A couple of notes of feedback for possible improvement: The wall jump should go a little further. I found it a little tricky to jump between walls since, unless you managed to press the direction arrow at the correct time, you wouldn't reach the other side. Most of the time I just jumped up the same wall. Also, I felt like the later levels could easily have been merged with the earlier levels, given how short they were.
Overall, loved the game! I would love to play this to completion if it ever releases some day.
The environment is so cute <3 I like how fast she runs :D But I don’t like how fast I die hahaha
Movement felt great especially the dash!
For that short game I would focus on just few abilities and exploring gameplay around them, right now most fun came from just dashing around tbh.
I think that shadow mechanic on its own could be an awesome core piece of the game if you could focus mainly on that.
Visually game looks very charming and sfx as well as the music fit it very well.
Wow this was really charming! I really enjoyed how fluid the movement was, and the cooldowns were well-communicated. I played all the way through!
I feel like I only needed to use the fireball and the shadow spell though, so some puzzles that required the others could have been cool, but I recognize there is only so much time and you already did a lot.
Great work!
Awesome platformer ! I really like the visuals, music, and movement, maybe except for vertical wall jumps. I feel like it lacks vertical speed. Also, just in case you want to make it a little harder, I cheesed the final boss by running to one edge, casting a fireball while he melees, then running to the other edge after he jumps. The boss doesn't fire his arrows this way and just constantly does jumps and melee.
Overall, I give it 10 bald Mai / 12 baseball somen.
this boss battle is super cheesable at this moment in time, i have found 3 methods actually:
* the one mentioned in this message
* attacking, dashing backwards, then attacking when he's vulnerable
* using the ground spikes on him just decimates him
also this is the best reviewing scheme, i give it a wowie/10
Awesome game! Everything is really slick. The pixel art and the character movement are top-notch. Well done!
Game was a lot of fun.
Art style and music was a big win for me. I was bopping the tunes.
I found that the Dash mechanic was a bit to hard to control and times, and I found wall climbing to be a saving grace.( I think that may be a skill issue hahah)
overall good job!
well, i would like to thank you all for playing my game!
first things first. Yeah...i had to cut down on some parts due to the time constraints i was facing on this jam. It really made me think if it was even worthy of uploading at all during the last day
but i decided to upload it so here we are! And i've been getting a lot of feedback that i've most likely wouldn't have gotten if i wouldn't have released this game, which is really helping me biuld upon this game to something bigger :D so i would like to say thank you all for playing this game, and it's my pleasure to improve upon it as much as i can !!
Great stuff, I had a lot of fun with this one as I do love a solid platformer.
The theming is great, visually very pretty and the wall jumps are crisp. It's the perfect size for a demo and isn't stupidly difficult or too easy. Controller works well by the way also.
It is a little rough in areas. The first 2 levels have some tricky-ish platforming but that's all forgotten about come level 3 and you just kinda run through using 2 of the powers. Some of the powers have no use. Some of the art doesn't match other art. It's described as a cozy platformer but then you have big upbeat music that's not exactly in line with the idea.
With some work on level design and really tie-ing together the theme, art and music this could be a cool little release. I had a lot of fun and played through the whole thing. Thanks!
Please give our little game a shot and leave some honest feedback, we like to know where we can grow.
hey! thanks for playing my silly little submission for this jam, i would like to thank you for the feedback as i'll most likely be turning this into a bigger-ish project, so i'll 100% be taking this into account when making it :D
as for your game, i have put it in a list for a video i'll be making reviewing a bunch of games on the pirate software game jam :3
Ooooh fun. Please drop a link for where you're doing this!
It's got so much soul and what an absolute joy to play!
it still isn't as good as your gmame...
This was really fun, I really liked the art! :)
yeah the art team worked overtime for this one
i'm kinda feeling bad cuz i feel like i may have overworked them a little bit
played on stream: timestamp
i would make a reply but honestly i've already said enough on stream
i tried :(
It's a bit rough at parts (conflicting art style, hitboxes feel a bit janky) but that's fine for a jam project, the movement is fun, and I feel like if in the future you take this and refine it further, you could get something really great!!
ah! Working on the game after the jam is over? I'm actually thinking on doing that, maybe i'll do it
but yeah, jokes apart, thanks for the feedback and for playing my silly little submission! I've had to crunch down on time for things like backgrounds so that's probably one of the main factors on why the art style is so conflicting, maybe i'll try something new on a future update or something like that
but again, thanks for the feedback and for playing my game!!
Pretty cool game! Movement is nice and smooth. Also liked the art and music :)
hey! thanks for playing my game, i'm really happy that you enjoyed the movement, as it is probably the part i've spent the most time on! and i'm quite proud of it myself :D
as for the art, i'm also really proud of the art team for making such a good job with the art
and the music? i actually played it in a loop during the development of the game, i've gotten really lucky with the music team aswell :D
amazing loved all of it
:).
so cool...
