Which path did you choose?

Fresh Build

How does your game bring our theme, OUT OF TIME, to life?
The player is losing power every second and the player is a robot in a completely nature based world.

What did you do to ensure accessibility of the game?
Honestly I was not able to complete it in time but there are a few things a gamepad can do. You cant fully play the game with one though.

Did you include the Indieformer or Patch Notes logo somewhere in your game?

No

Played live in Jamlytics, hope the feedback & playthrough helped :D

The game was ok. I did not like the no music and still images but it reminded me of that one survivor game and I liked that part about it

If you would like, please try out my game too!

Nice entry! It felt like if vampire survivors had a story.

Played through a few times! And ultimately got a High score of 4044! I really like the look of the pixel art, great job there and the story/sentimental idea behind this. The idea of upgrading was a nice one but I never really felt the difference between the different upgrades. The melee enemies felt manageable, but the ranged ones felt like I had very little play against them. So maybe a longer range option or a way to deflect or dodge the ranged attacks would be something to improve!

You can also just run through the level without the path if needed.

Sad no SFX or music, you can always use free SFX or music in a pinch and it really helps sell the game. I personally like the ones from GDC https://sonniss.com/gameaudiogdc/

Thanks for making this Scorpion!

If I update the game I will make several enemy and combat changes to make it feel better. Thanks for the sound recommendation I’ll check it out!

Thank you for playing!

Played the game a few times (I am using the downloaded version just in case). Sadly, can't progress through the second map as it crashed once I pressed continue at the shop page. I quite liked the world-building and would really want to know how it ends, it's such a shame not being able to go through the entire game :(

Other things I like:

  • Nice pixel art world, as well as the player character and enemies
  • Upgrade system
  • Good battle pacing, defeating enemies took a reasonable amount of time and felt smooth

Suggestions:

  • Would really fancy a ranged attack option, or maybe adjusting the weapon range. I am saying this cause the flowers annoyingly back up when you are closing in, and it's virtually impossible to avoid being hit when chasing them up. This led to
  • Maybe some barrier option for dealing with enemy ranged attacks? It's a robot after all, so it makes sense to have a force field of something
  • Losing power is not obvious to the player. I think this came down to a slowly depleting energy bar, of which the change is barely noticeable. I will suggest doing chunks instead (think battery logo on old phones)

Anyway, this is still a fun game regardless. Good job in making this game!

Thank you for playing and providing detailed feedback!

I guess the download is broken if you got a 404 which is incredibly annoying. There is an occasional bug when in the upgrade screen one of the flowers could keep moving backwards and crash the game. If I update the game I will be removing the backing up they do.

I originally had a plan for armor but I wasn’t able to add the ability to repair it in time so I set it to 0. If I update it will be implemented.

the player has about 6000 points to make it to the end. I could update the bar every 500 or 1000 points instead of immediately draining.

What a lovely story, this is a fine plant survivor twin-stick shooter game. I had an urge to wipe out a group of plants, but my attacks are so small, there should be some size upgrades. The most annoying ones would be the sunflower. I could just rush to the end being pacifism, but I wanted to experience some Vampire Survivors.

I originally had plans for a range upgrade to the attacks but I couldn’t quite figure it out. If I do update the game I’m going to remove the running away feature they have.

Thank you for playing my game!
