How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
At first, you can’t beat some levels because you die with no way out. But there’s one level you can actually finish — except the controls are reversed: when you try to move right, the character goes left… and sometimes you even get stuck to the walls.

I'd be sad if I did not play this by just not noticing it. I am glad I've come across and had a chance to test.

It looks like it could have been better even than this if you had a little bit more time. I can feel that.

Good luck!

Developer

Thank you so much! We’ll keep working on it and would love to hear your thoughts again in the future.

The lantern on the character was a really cool addition. Great atmosphere for such a small amount of time!

You guys did an awesome job! I really like the art style, it’s super cute.

The art and environment in this game is wonderful, and I love the character design! Also enjoyed the spooky music. Would love to see where you guys could go with this with more time, I think the premise has the potential for a great storyline, especially if you added dialogue/character discovery along the way. :)

This one was nice. I like the way it looks and the overlapping environment features.

I'm not sure how it ties into the theme. It might be because I beat the game quite quickly and didn't see much of it.

I'm unsure how difficulty changing works and I wasn't able to access the settings menu on the desktop version of the game.

Decent sound design and foundations for building a platformer game upon.

Thanks a lot for your comment and for taking the time to play, it really helps us see how people experience the game and what we could improve in the future! ☺️

The game is divided into three levels. The first two are impossible to complete because of the “bugs” that prevent you from completing your mission. In the final level, where the controls are inverted, the challenge can actually be beaten and the game completed.

We wanted to do more, but we didn’t fully understand the submission deadline because of the time zone difference (on the itch.io page of the jam, three different times appeared and we weren’t sure which one was correct.).

We really wanted to add some dialogues to make the game feel more alive and even include another level with new bugs. We also had plans to try out more creative ideas, but in the end we just ran out of time, though we know that’s no excuse.

Thanks again for your kind words, which we will definitely keep in mind to improve the game.

Great cover art and on the game page, but I did feel the in-game arts a bit less interesting in comparison. The ambient music is ok, although a bit too eerie for such a “cozy” game. The sound effects are ok, but the death sounds are a bit too loud and jarring.

On the gameplay side, I just found it to be quite lacking, sadly to say. There isn’t any interesting platforming mechanics, and the platforming themselves is somewhat buggy, like the player being able to get stuck on the corner of a platform. The main character was also quite a slow walker, despite being cat 🤣

Overall looks very pretty, but definitely could have used more work on the gameplay design.

Thank you so much for taking the time to play and share your thoughts! 🙏

You’re totally right on several points: since this was only our second jam (and the first one with such a short timeframe), we focused on getting something simple and playable done, even if that meant leaving some mechanics and polish behind. On top of that, the time zone difference caught us off guard with the submission deadline, so we had to rush a bit.

We’re really glad you found the visuals appealing, and we definitely want to keep working on the idea to make it more engaging and fun (especially by improving the gameplay, animations and giving it a more dynamic pace).

Once again, thanks a lot for the feedback, it really helps us see where to take the project next! 🐾

To anyone having blue screen issue: i have got blue screened too but when i download  it then it worked perfectly.

Music and art was awsome and was a beuty to look at and to listen. You clearly got a solid base for a full game. I hope you guys continue your work :)

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience! 💙 It really means a lot to us that you enjoyed the music and art. Your encouragement gives us even more motivation to keep improving and expanding the game.

We’re also sorry about the error you ran into, but we’re glad to hear everything worked fine after downloading. This was only our second game jam (and the first one with such a short time frame). Because of the time zone differences, we weren’t completely sure about the exact deadline, which made us a bit nervous 😖😖 and unfortunately led us to upload the wrong web build without realizing it.

Thanks again for your support and understanding, it truly helps us grow and learn for the future!

I only get a blue screen)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yes, it’s an error in the web build, but the Windows version works perfectly.

We had posted an announcement on the page to inform users since we couldn’t fix the file in time.

We are very sorry for the inconveniences. We invite you to try the Windows version so you can fully enjoy the experience.

The art and the music were beautiful. I really felt that the aesthetic really matched. When I got to the end, there was no way for me to get back to the menu, or quit the game. Other than that, this was a really cute game, and you did a great job!

Developer(+2)

Thank you so much for your kind words!

We’re
really happy to hear you enjoyed the art and music. And thanks as well for pointing out the menu/exit issue — we’ll make sure to improve that in the next version.

We really appreciate your feedback and support!

The fullscreen options are blocking each other in a web version, though it has bigger issues right now :)

Love the art very much (in-game and on a game page)!

Not sure if it was part of the game but the title screen would flash and turn blue, couldnt figure out how to get into the game but heard a cool title theme and theres some really great art from what i gather

Developer

sorry, that's an error that happened in the web version of the game, the windows version works fine, I wasn't able to make a fixed build before the time limit went up, my pc was having troubles. I'm planning on publishing a new version on unity play

Developer

As my colleague mentioned, the web version is currently broken, but the executable works perfectly. We’d be super happy if you gave it another try so you can enjoy the full experience!

Thanks a lot for your feedback and for letting us know what’s happening. We’ll make sure to check things more carefully before uploading next time.

The same thing happened on the windows version yesterday but tried it again this morning and it worked. Cursed Unity :( Game was really great though and art was AWESOME

Really cute art and music. Cool page design for the game as well.

I managed to reach the end on the 2nd level at first so went back to play the 3rd level. With the big change in the music and tone I was worried it was going to end up with a sad ending instead if you beat it on the 3rd.

Has good foundations, it would be nice to see some more mechanics to go with the platforming - something involving Rais lantern as part of the gameplay could be great.

Developer(+1)

Yes! We wanted to add more mechanics, but we didn’t have enough time 😞. It’s our first 3-day jam, and we tried to give it our best.

Regarding the lantern, I had planned to include some dark levels where Rai (the protagonist) would need to turn it on to progress, as well as collect the fragments of its owner’s soul.

Thanks for your feedback 😁

Scary music! nice theme. Nice work in progress.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!! We’ll try to improve the narrative as well as innovate in the gameplay. Any suggestions will be more than welcome.
