Message from the artist
This is the quirky OST I composed for my imaginary video game "Bubble Exhaler", a fast-paced 2D platformer where you play a character named Jean-Bulle, a french dog (he's the brother of Jean-Banane).
https://on.soundcloud.com/uFJjcN5uP5Ub3wB39
1. Jean-Bulle (Main Theme)
2. Échoppe Cachée (Shop Theme)
3. Promenade Endiablée (Boss Theme)
I tried to make the tracks stick together by using similar or identical soundfounts, and by using tritones recurrently.
P.S. Maybe the mixing and mastering on this was done a bit quickly, and I'll try to improve it after the jam by posting the album on Youtube!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
This is my fantasy world, a bizarre world with a bizarre dog who smokes bubbles with a pipe.

A dog that smokes bubbles...what have you been smoking?
Anyway - it was definitely fun, heh) Good combination of madness, breakbeat, musical instruments, chiptune and... pure madness. I loved it! Thanks!
P.S. You sure you weren't using something illegal?)
Thank you so much man, and no except if you consider cold milk as an illegal substance ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
OMG I LOVED IT! Every track is so fun to listen to, you did a fantastic work!
Big fan of how upbeat these were!
This is so quirky, upbeat, and fun! Had a blast listening to this!
I got really excited when I saw the genres you described your submission as : I love Bossa Nova and DnB, and I was really interested to see how you'd incorporate House music into a video game ost. I think the way you did is really solid and works pretty well!
I think you were able to create a soundtrack that feels coherent and connected through it's tone and style - it's pretty silly and light, yet still pretty cool and very electronic.
Nice job!
I Like all the Tracks that you did! Very Great and good melodies (Good to remember)
Really creative and goofy, I like that!
Encore un dieu vivant côté France.
Excellent OST, super créatif, varié tout le travail sonore pour les bulles... franchement énorme!
Ahah merci l'ami, c'est trop d'éloges !
This is a great entry! Really reminds me of N64 era game soundtracks, I love the more traditional orchestral instruments mixed with the breakbeats, synths and vocal samples. My favourite track is probably Échoppe Cachée, you really nailed the "video game shop" feeling, and it's really catchy! Fantastic work!
Really hip, the bubble sounds tickle my brain! Really cute sampling and sound design.
Definitely one of the more fun tracks I've heard and probably one of my favorites! ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧
Thank you so much! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
This has some nice beats, the mixing is mostly well (except that bubble and vinly scratch sound at the 3rd track), the progression is perfectly paced, good job!
Yeah those bubble/vinyl scratching volumes are unfortunate... It's because I procrastinate so much and ended up mixing at the very last moment. Thank you!

Cute little selection of tunes, that fit the artwork really well. Those bubbly percussive sounds in the first track really hammer home the conenction to the art, especially the type of reverb you chose (Spring reverb?). The current mix issues you´cve mentioned are noticeable, but no big deal and the time constraints of a game jam just lead to these things occasionally. I do not know if the subtle darkening of the harmony at times is intentional, but I´d say I quite enjoyed it as a unique spice to the otherwise lighthearted tunes.
The reverb effects are just some presets from Fruity Convolver, as for the darkening of harmonies I guess it's because I wanted to challenge myself to use tritones (I'm too used to stay on one mode the whole song, and I wanted to change that this time)!
Good job, then. The harmonic spice is something I particularly enjoyed.
This is so fun, I love it! It those bubbly synths going up remind me of the cartoon car skid SFX lol, that's so good.
Thank you!! Yeah ahah I used a lot of cartoon sample banks for this.
All these tracks feel quite cohesive except for the organ part at the end of track three, since that instrument kind of comes out of nowhere. I like the vibe a lot, definitely quirky and fun, and the bubble sounds help tie everything in with your theme
Yes the organ was added at the last moment as I wanted something to transition back into the beginning and make it loop. I used a melody I had thought for a 4th track I didn't have the time to write, maybe I shouldn't have in the end ahah. Thank you very much!
I like your take on the theme, definitely really unique and out there. also i like how you managed to put the sound of a bubble popping in every track
Very cohesive pieces, love all the chiptune sounds. "Échoppe Cachée" is so catchy
i love the quirky synths on this one - super catchy!
Thank you so much for listening!
