Great work, unique compared to many of the other submissions! I really like how you carry similar instruments throughout the whole soundtrack to make it feel cohesive.

Thank you!

Thank you! I haven't heard of Ib, I might have to give its soundtrack a listen.

Thank you!

Wow you are spot on with those influences! I've been watching quite a few videos about old horror games leading up to the jam, including D and all the Clock Tower games, so I thought I might as well try to bring some of that stuff into my entry. I think you would be surprised by the audio quality you hear in some PS1 games that make use of the CD technology for their soundtracks, but yes I get what you mean, maybe I could have tried to make it a bit more obvious that I was going for an older aesthetic. Anyway, thank you for the kind words!

Thanks I'll have to go through another EarthBound soundfont phase now!

Really good work, each track is really well composed and there is a clear story progression. I also like the use of sound effects through some of the songs, like the ocean sounds throughout and the chanting in Onward and Lunar Eclipse. My favourite track is Heart Of The Mountain Town, I really like the interplay between the different instruments in the quieter bits!

This is fantastic, it's all really well mixed and there are lots of great unique ideas in there! There's a clear story progression in the music, although I would have liked to hear more details about the game itself. I am in love with Revival and Rejuvenation, seriously the vocal sounding instrument in the intro is genius and I really like the percussion bits and the wildlife sound effects!

This is fantastic, all of these tracks are really well mixed. I honestly admire the drum track in Shooting Stars, and obviously all the synth sounds are great!

Fantastic work, really solid composition and mixing throughout, and lots of variety in styles! I think my favourite track is Moonlight Marina, it has a great soothing atmosphere.

Fantastic job, I love the soft lofi synth sounds throughout! Is there a specific VST you are using for these because I might have to get it! There are so many little details that come in through each song (I hear that EarthBound sample in ROUGH WATERS) that make this soundtrack really fun to listen to. The use of breakbeats also gives this entry a unique sound compared to many of the others I have heard so far. My favourite track is probably A little town for the intro alone, I really like the subtle swelling pad in the background and again that synth tone is really nice.

Thank you so much!

Thank you! Yes I get what you mean about the loudness, listening to other submissions I can now see that I needed to make mine louder but I didn't realise when I had spent a week only listening to my tracks. I will definitely give that plugin a go!

Thank you! I was trying to focus on creating immersion this jam so it's good that it seems to have worked.

Fantastic job, you managed to capture the different emotional beats of the story really well across each song. There are some great synth sounds in there as well! I think my favourite track is Gaia because of its building foreboding atmosphere and the slow pitch bending throughout.

Wow, these are fantastic, you have a really cinematic style! Each track manages to have a unique sound and atmosphere, especially One Summer Night with its Vocaloid which was a surprising addition but definitely fits with your story well. All the instruments sound really clean and realistic, I love the little sound design flourishes throughout and your composition is great too! I also thought the video was a great touch.

Amazing work here, really unique with your use of real guitars and basses. The bassline and drums on Fast Road are fantastic, and I really like the jazzy feel of In The Lounge. You are right, the vibrato on the guitar 100% gives an excellent summery feeling, like being in a heatwave. The emotions in each track are spot on, and your story and illustrations are great too!

Nice work, sort of reminds me of Stardew Valley's soundtrack. Our City really fits for a map theme, I think you did a great job there!

Great work, I love how catchy and bouncy many of the tracks are, and the strings used throughout sound really nice. Campfire Working is one of my favourites for these reasons! I also really like No Shores for Eaters of Men, it has a fantastic soft ambient sound.

Great work here, I love all the unique instrument choices and the creeping dark undertones to many of the tracks! My favourite is probably Bored because of that weird vocal sample. I would have loved to hear more about the game to put the soundtrack into context!

Wow this is so well composed! Reminds me of the excellent Chrono Trigger and Breath of the Wild soundtracks in places. The chord progressions and melodies are absolutely fantastic, it all seems so effortlessly complex and varied and they carry lots of emotion which is appropriate for your game idea. The tracks played live sound really good too! My favourite one has to be Title Theme, I really love the quick little flourishes you put in every so often.

Good work here, you definitely captured the feeling of a sleepless summer night across both tracks! As other people have said, the second track is quite loud and clips a bit. I would have loved to hear more about a game idea!

Thank you for such kind words! I have good news for you, it's on SoundCloud here!

Thank you so much! I'm really happy with the chords on Vast Hall so I'm glad you like them too.

Thank you! The melody in Passageways is actually a vocal sample I got from downloading the free Etherealwinds Harp II: Community Edition sample pack which I chopped up and pitched around. You're right though, it does sound a bit like an erhu!

Great work, can definitely imagine these tracks playing behind an old black and white film. The instrument choice and composition in Footprints In The Fog also reminds me of old DOS point and click games which is pretty cool too.

Wow! These tracks are amazing, they sound so polished, I could 100% imagine them in a real game. It all sounds so lively and realistic, every song is really solidly composed and the mixing is fantastic. Really nice game idea too. I think Paths of Paper is my favourite track, I absolutely love the guitar in the background!

Fantastic job here, I love the story you came up with and the tracks fit it perfectly! You definitely managed to capture the different emotions across each section of the game really well. I also really like the carnival-themed instrumentation. I think my favourite track is Waxing Fun, Waning Sun (great name by the way), I like its tentative optimistic feeling and it's also pretty catchy too!

Thanks, I'm glad you like the melodic parts in Ancient Foundations, I was experimenting with more dissonance than I'm used to with that one so I didn't know if people would like it, but it seems to have paid off. I was trying to go for a dreamlike atmosphere for the game so I deliberately tried to make some of the tracks less melodic, but maybe that's a bad idea for a composing competition on second thought...

And yes I did make a grave mistake by forgetting to add a song where the only instrument is a fart sample!!

Great work, all the tracks are very well composed and have really nice dynamic changes throughout. They all fit well with the story you described, which I also really like, especially the unique ending!

Fantastic work! Your composition skills are great, the chord progressions throughout are really nice. The Last Knight of Summer is awesome, I love how dynamic it is, you don't stick around on one idea for very long through the whole song! My favourite track has to be Winter though, it's very Demon's/Dark Souls and you definitely succeeded in giving it a great sombre atmosphere.

These are fantastic tracks, I like the lofi style they have and they're very well mixed. I really like Dewdrop because it reminds me of the excellent Baba is You soundtrack. I would have loved to hear more about the game idea!

Great work here! It sort of reminds me of the Stardew Valley soundtrack, both in how it sounds and with the emotional core you managed to create. My favourite track is Heaven's Hope, I really like the breathy sounding instrument that comes in at some points.

Hello, I'm Sam and I'm a composer! I haven't done anything strictly "vaporwave" before but I've just put together this track as practice. You can hear many of my other songs on my website. Let me know if you want me to work on this project, if you want me to do anything differently in the rest of the songs I'd be happy to hear your suggestions! You can contact me at samdgoff@gmail.com

Thank you!

This is great, I love how The Chase builds on top of Jailer's Den with the heavier production and those fantastic scratched vocal samples! My favourite track has to be Rebel Woods though, the start obviously sounds amazing but then I like how it fades out into the wildlife ambience. It would definitely work really well as an intro or for a title screen. Nice work!

Really nice work, reminds me of the field day and night themes from Breath of the Wild with its stripped back piano arrangement. The addition of wildlife sounds in the background is a fantastic idea! I can really picture the game you're describing with this music playing, something really cozy with clean, simple graphics.

Really love this, it's nice to hear some retro-style tracker music being submitted. Reminds me of some of Dean Evans' work on the SNES (e.g. Waterworld) with those lovely chord samples in the first track. I love all the unique instrument choices throughout too. Nice work!

Really great work here, I like the game idea you described and the music definitely fits! I love The Ritual, the rhythmic instrument looping in the background and the driving kick drum are great at creating that feeling of being chased. My favourite track has to be the Main Theme though, I love the flute and that evil bass synth, they really work to create an uneasy atmosphere even before you start the game.

I'm not really a fan of metal vocals in general but I must say you won me over here! I really like the melody and the song has a great, solid structure. Would be great in a game as a combat theme as you described, it has a fantastic energy to it! Great job!
