Description
After many years of being oblivious to the sea's mysteries, Valerary is sent into a spiral after her brother goes missing, and the signs point to a higher power.
I created the soundtrack on FL Studio using a combination of VSTs based on old synthesizers and lush reverb.
I wanted the soundtrack to feel like an open canvas for your mind to fill in the gaps like the music is a mystery.

Theme

Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The world is based on the figure in the back; when I saw him, I wanted to explore his mystery. It's underwater aswell based on the setting of the picture.

Last Minute Rating Spree

As I keep saying, something about these retro ambient pads just activates a neuron in my brain. Beyond that, there is lots of depth and interesting production to be found. Underrated sub.

Me listening to this amazing ambient work while contemplating the nature of humanity and how close must our synthetic creation be to be entitled to human rights:

Here is a better view of the scary face from Mandela Catalogue, less scary but more disturbing : r/MandelaCatalogue

On a serious note, this is extremely good. It doesn't feel like horror but more like a sense of wonder, like a horror that comes from trying to understand something beyond your understanding. Certainly enjoyed hearing another interpretation of that figure in the back being ominous.

As promised, here I am!

I love the mysterious atmosphere and I think the description "for your mind to fill in the gaps like the music is a mystery" encapsulates this OST perfectly! The calm yet mysterious atmosphere paired with the awesome drum playing makes for a unique yet great listening experience. The eerie "breathing" sound also adds to the atmosphere nicely and could fit pretty well into your description of a higher power being present.

I do have one small nitpick tho, I feel as if the mixing for some instruments could be done a little better (but it's not that big of a deal for me because I'm not really that good at mixing as well lol). Other than that small critique tho, you've done some amazing work!

That's all I have to say really, have a great day!

The question mark face in the picture really made me laugh. I think its the big ol' eyes.

"for your mind to fill in the gaps like the music is a mystery" is exactly what this felt like - like im at the bottom of the ocean, trying to piece together some obscure secret, accompanied only by the black waves and some guy absolutely killing it on the drums. the last song was a particularly nice change of mood, it felt like i had figured something out, and gotten one step closer to whatever awaits at the end. nice job!

Heh... ambient with intense drums? Cool!

I love the bass in the second track... It makes itself felt pleasantly in my ears! And this "breathing" in the following tracks sets an eerie atmosphere...

Thank you! It was definitely a very interesting adventure.

You really nailed the atmospheric and mysterious theme of this,  would fit very well in a puzzle game since it isn't that much distracting (except some of the percussion but whatever). It also feels like it comes from underwater so you did a good job on the aquatic nature of this. I love glitchy drums so I also liked the final track, the melody is too loud though, it could be better mixed.

Fav track(s): Trench (Seabed too)

Love the vibes here

Excellent tracks - very atmospheric!

My only criticism is that some of the music feels like it ends really abruptly, it would be great to have the themes flow into each other more smoothly. But other than that, very well done!

Love the sound design. Very fear and hunger like but more calming. I really dig the art which really works with this ost!

Very cool atmosphere, you did a great job capturing the mysterious vibe. All of the glitchy sound effects and textures in the background do a great job at setting the atmosphere and keeping everything interesting while the synth chords set a great foundation. My favourite track is definitely that last one, the drums sound awesome.
