I don't know why I was surprised when the characters I traded with turned into werewolves. It's literally in the name. I love it!
Fun game! Trade by day and battle by night: a cool and novel concept :) The game is quite polished overall, with unlockable maps, countdown timers, different music for day/night. Enjoyed the writing too: “I apologise for my temper last night. I don’t know what came into me…” Really nice touch! A minor observation: You only have to survive for two nights right? The game ends after the third day. The platforming was approachable and enjoyable, even for someone like me with limited platforming skills. "This is going to be peaceful and relaxing": I felt there was something suspicious there... Great job overall!
Thanks for the detailed feedback! All those "polish" aspects you mention weren't there for the first Global Game Jam version of the game (made in 48 hours) - I spent the OGA jam period adding all the polish, and playtesting and tweaking game play. Although the concept is unchanged, I think it makes quite a difference.
You're right that you only need to survive for two nights now, though there are some later maps where it's still three... But I should probably change the text.
I loved how original the gameplay felt, with the trading in the daytime and the hybrid donkey kong and plinko style platforming, well done! :)
Nice one! The trade mechanism is simple and adds a nice refreshing touch of reflexion in between the platformer sequences. Well done!
Nice twist, very entertaining.
Such a cool idea for a game. It was very frantic trying to find the best deals before sundown and I absolutely loved the music progression. I agree with the other commenter that icons would be helpful, and one pet peeve I have is the set height for jumping. However, the perfect transition from day to night with the music and the graphics of the salespeople more than make up for that.
Thanks for the feedback! The icons are now there (in some maps). The jump height is still fixed though, sorry. I do admit that dynamic jump height is usually better for platformers...
Oh no I killed too many werewolves and they did not respawn in time. Very funny theme. Would be easier with little food icons. Oh and maybe indicate their taste with an icon above the head once you talked to them, I can't remember who likes what food. Also it would be funny if you kill a werewolf and they drop some of their favorite food to collect. The counter sound is a bit too loud too. Other than that, a neat little experience!
Thanks for the detailed feedback and suggestions! Pickup drops were actually implemented, but I decided to omit that, because my icon graphics didn't fit very well, but also because there shouldn't be too much extra incentive to kill the werewolves. But the taste icon is a good suggestion. If you have perfect memory and can think really quickly (and are a bit lucky), you can get crazy high scores. But I noticed my own memory isn't good enough for that... Icons could help.
They extended the Jam submission period, you could still add Food Icons if you want.
There is a nice collection on OpenGameArt, I made a little spritesheet for the food in your game;

It's a really nice entry, keep up the good work!
Wow thanks! I added the food icons, on your request. :-) Still I used the icons from Thekingphoenix that I already had (also in your collection btw) - they are too big for pickups, but work well for icons. I didn't add the icons in every map - they feel a bit like "training wheels" to me. But I'm curious to hear what people prefer...
All my foodie friends betrayed me! Who knew you couldn’t trust a wearwolf
...but they did really regret it in the morning... Thanks for playing!
