nice
This is really fun. Since i do like deck builder i had no problem understanding the concept, though some better indication that you had to choose one modifier of each collumn and which one you already picked from would have been nice.
Besides that, what does the ‘segment’ stat do?
Yeah, I really needed to tweak the color scheme of the “disabled” state of the event plane so it was easier to see. I like the idea of showing the player which one you selected already. I’ll add that to my todo list for after the jam!
Great question! That’s another thing I wish I had more time to add a tutorial for. The “segments” divide the bar that slowly fills over time and each segment is consumed to play a card (internally the bar was called the “graphite” bar and you would “draw” your shapes when you play them consuming graphite).
Essentially, every time you double the number of segments you have you will double the rate at which you can play cards (going from 10->11 isn’t a very big change so I probably should’ve increased the amount for the demo).
Really interesting entry, and I love a deck builder. Definitely a challenge to fine tune the balance during the jam time, so well done! Music works great too
Card games are not really my thing, though I certainly prefer realtime games over turn-based! And a really great gladitorial idea, in terms of mixing genres (real time fighting x card games). Very cool!
WOW! You put some amount of work into this, I don't understand how to play it... then again I don't understand much anyway :) Well done
I needed just another coding session or two to make a tutorial and do some balancing. So it goes with code jams! Thanks for trying it out!
You're welcome
So, this is a game jam where those who are playing are trying to get to play as many games as possible. Your game has many complexities and needs some time to figure out game play. I only lasted 30 seconds and finally moved.
I unfortunately ran out of time to do implement a tutorial :(
Thanks for trying it out!
