I just learned about Pico-8 a few days ago. Cool to see an entry using it right after!

I’m having the same issue.

Yeah, I really needed to tweak the color scheme of the “disabled” state of the event plane so it was easier to see. I like the idea of showing the player which one you selected already. I’ll add that to my todo list for after the jam!

Great question! That’s another thing I wish I had more time to add a tutorial for. The “segments” divide the bar that slowly fills over time and each segment is consumed to play a card (internally the bar was called the “graphite” bar and you would “draw” your shapes when you play them consuming graphite).

Essentially, every time you double the number of segments you have you will double the rate at which you can play cards (going from 10->11 isn’t a very big change so I probably should’ve increased the amount for the demo).

This was a fun entry and I really appreciated the theme pun!

This is a great little platformer! The subtract shape idea was a fun surprise. Movement controls felt great!

Wow! This is a fantastic code jam entry! Well done!

Having a shop was a fun addition to pong! Others mentioned this as well, but setting the resolution manually should fix the issue with it being too small in the browser.

I needed just another coding session or two to make a tutorial and do some balancing. So it goes with code jams! Thanks for trying it out!

I unfortunately ran out of time to do implement a tutorial :(

Thanks for trying it out!

Hey there! This was a really fun idea for a game. I came across it from the YouTube channel “Riffle Shuffle & Roll” and upon further searching landed here on your itch.io page. I’m a hobbyist game developer in my free time and think it would be a lot of fun to try implementing my own version and maybe even add some tweaks along the way. Is that something you would be okay with?

Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you for the kind words!

I’m a big RTS fan even though I’m terrible at them haha. This is a fantastic entry! Great work in such a short time frame!

Reducing the enemy health like that was a fun idea for a puzzle!

I really like all the animations!

I’ve been playing a lot of Phasmophobia with friends lately so I wanted to go in a slightly spooky feel :)

It could be that the probabilities are too little! I think I have it set up so that 0-3 tables will spawn in each room and each table has a 50% chance to spawn a page.

Maybe the game needs a counter of some sort to increase the probability up to 100% after not spawning one for so long?

I’ll keep that in mind for after the codejam is over! It would be fun if something happened after the duck ate a dozen donuts or so.

I’m glad you enjoyed the game! The quack is my favorite :)

I’m glad you liked it! I researched for awhile trying to find some ideas for the effect I was wanting to go for. It ended up working out better than I could’ve hoped!

Thanks for the kind comments! The music was actually done a few days before the whole “duck n’ donuts” idea came around so I’m glad it all ended up working well together!

After the jam is over I’d like to work a bit more on the world generation and balancing the donut power a bit. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
