Great job submitting a game! I enjoy this twist on snake. I like that you can use your minions as fodder to block shots from the canon. I was a little surprised that you don't have to have the exact number on the ground. I think it could've been interesting if you had to sacrifice some of your followers to get to the correct number. I also like that moving diagonally makes you move faster but is riskier. The number never got high enough where I was scared of running into my followers (until I started moving diagonally). I got to level 12 before using the diagonal movement to speed things up got me killed haha. I had fun playing. Thanks for participating!

Wow! Thanks very much for the kind words and taking time to play my game.
I like the idea of sacrificing your minions to reach the right number, could be part of a difficulty mode, it is the first time I made a snake game, and I loved the idea of having it run on a Nokia, I used to have one so it was a my biggest motivation to join.

Neat twist on snake! I included it in my Nokia 3310 Jam 4 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I got to 14 and then stopped. I think this one suffers from not having any change with the progression. Also, I'm not sure where the roguelike element is.

Developer

Agree on having a difficulty curve or adding new challenges along the way. The roguelike elements are based on the randomness of the numbers and allocation of resources,

This was a really cool take on the snake concept. The number ranges seem to be totally random. Would like it a little more of it started on lower numbers and got higher and higher.

Thanks! Glad you had fun with it. Agree, next time I will setup a difficulty curve.

This has some style. Very nice presentation on the tutorial screens.

I just found it a bit too luck-based; when I got hit with an early “8” off the bat, I was just like, “Aww man, run dead.” Sometimes the cannons stay well out your way too, other times it seems like you gotta cross them, and you don’t have much control over the outcome.

Developer

Yeah, I agree that it can be better in that sense, I should have taken more time to improve the randomness and cap it based on the level ( Lv1 = 1 - 3, Lv2 = 3 - 5, etc).
Thanks for appreciating the tutorial, I work hard on it, glad you liked it.

Nice take on the snake genre, I don't think the game is pixel perfect but solid entry nonetheless.

Thanks! Oh interesting, I used aseprite with a 84x48 grid, and for the movement was quite tricky but is moving 1 pixel, but it does it fast enough to feel its smoother.

That's true, but the space between the head and trailing body seems to be slightly less than a pixel is all.

Fun game, a good mix of multiple games. I really like the visuals, also the UI is clean and easy to read even at the small Nokia resolution. Sometimes the followers would spawn too close to the cannon though.

Developer

Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback! I'm thankful you noticed the UI, I worked hard on it and try to keep it as clear and clean as possible.
Yeah, I coded to avoid spawning above items, but should have improved the spawn to consider the sprite size.
