Game is pretty cool, its fun and well designed and oh boy, that conversation UI feels so good

Ending made me chuckle.

Good pixel art and music. You could put an indicator on whose player is controlling by having an arrow on the head or centering the screen to avoid confusion. Cute.

Good job on the art! The puzzles were fun enough, the movement felt good to the point where I felt I could speed through the levels if I felt it was too easy, so I had an awesome experience. The dialogue was cute too.

I'm happy to see one of those games in this jam that feels like it would be quite a challenge to develop (think of all the puzzles and all), yet where the dev chose a scope small enough to where he could finish and polish the game on time for the deadline. Awesome work!

Fun puzzle game. Switching between Vedal and Neuro is a fun mechanic. Puzzles are well-designed

Very cute game. I absolutely loved the art!!! and the different text cutscenes were great and very polished.

If there's one thing I'd improve it's holding down a key to make characters move continuously, but other than that this game is great. Very well done!!

Developer(+1)

Oops, I realized that most of the game scales fine not in fullscreen, but some key elements are only visible in fullscreen!!

Please play it in fullscreen or you’ll miss out on the dialogue and the art!

I know was built in only 3 days for the game jam! Can tell a lot of work went into telling a simple heartfelt story and feels polished! I love the art and found it really easy to catch on! Great job <3

Note for others, make sure to play on full-screen otherwise may miss the dialogue like I did on my first play through!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words <3!! Yeah, I wish I caught those UI issues a bit earlier TwT but I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing! ^_^

Overall very fun and cute game.

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed it ^^ thank you so much for playing!!

There's so much effort put into this game. Art is very cute.  Nice game ^-^

Developer

Ahh thank you so much for playing!! ^_^

Love the warm story

Developer

Hehe thank you so much! <3 I’m really proud of us for being able to include the little cinematic parts in the game. Thanks for playing!

I like how it tells a story with no words, and the little sequences where Evil comes in and does her evil deeds!

Edit- Saw the screenshots and realized I probably have a bug where the dialogues don't show up...

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Oh no! there should be some dialogue showing up, it’s unfortunate that you missed out on it :( maybe I’ll upload a full playthrough of what the game is supposed to be!

but thank you so much for playing it and letting me know!! <33

It's a nice puzzle game. Music and art fit well. It'd be better if player didn't have to move both the character to the end of the level (maybe with help of some following mechanic?). Also I think levels could be not that big in terms of free space.

Developer(+1)

Hi!! thank you so much for playing :) yeah, we definitely wanted to include some more puzzle mechanics and some more complex levels, but time constraints- however, we may redesign the levels soon! thanks again for the feedback 😊❤️

Perfect art (both pixel and on the splash screens). Puzzles are easy, but fun to solve. There is no indication what character is under your control, and SFX are missing.

Cute little game, it was fun to play!

Developer

Hey, thank you for the feedback! Firstly, glad you enjoyed the gameplay and the art - we definitely wanted to make it a full experience.

We wanted to make it so that the characters visually fall asleep or become partially grayed out when inactive, so that’s one of the first updates we’ll push when possible! SFX will be a nice addition as well.

Thank you so much for playing!! :)

Nice art but the puzzles feel a little too straightforward - a lot of the time, there is only one thing that you can do, so by the time you are done identifying which actions you can take you have already solved it. Also even in fullscreen some of the game got cropped for me

Developer

Hi, thank you for playing! :) Yes, definitely, we wanted to implement more complex puzzle mechanics and more in-depth puzzles, but were unable to finish it all in the end. We might update the levels to be more complex after the jam! Thank you again <3

Submitted(+1)

That was nice :)

The art is clean and the cinematics are well done although the puzzles felt little too easy for my taste.

Developer

Hi, thank you for playing! ^^ That’s super kind of you to say <3 and yeah, we definitely want to increase the puzzle difficulty level more in the future :) thank you for your feedback!

nice little game, enjoyed it very much

Developer

thank you so much for playing it!! 💜💜💜

This is a really cute puzzle game! The pixel art is really good, I loved the sprites and it's impressive that you got those cutscenes and camera transitions working in this time frame! I also really liked the audio design, the music was good and so were the sound effects.

The narrative was simple but cute, the puzzles were also very straightforward but the individual pieces were clever and I think you could design some cool puzzles with those mechanics if you decided to work on this game more.

I did notice some UI scaling issues when playing in full screen, which would hopefully be an easy fix but is worth noting.

Otherwise, my only real complaint is that I wish there was more, good job y'all!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed reply!! Yes, I’m really proud of the extra completeness we were able to achieve for this project. Kudos again to our pixel artist @FoolPhilosopher and our musician @13bluec for making the experience even more meaningful. <3

I would have loved to implement some more complex puzzle designs as well, but alas, didn’t have enough time this time around.

As for UI scaling issues, yeah, I noticed those too! :( I think they’re mostly resolved by playing in fullscreen, but definitely something to fix. Thanks for letting me know!

I super appreciate your feedback! ^_^ and I hope you had a good game jam!

nice little puzzle game, well done visually. Sound and music are good.
The puzzles are quite straightforward. Not exactly sure how the theme fits.

btw, try setting the projects embed options to "Click to launch in fullscreen"

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks so much for playing!! Yeah, the resolution was a bit wonky with the fullscreen both embed-mode and “click to fullscreen”-mode. However, I’m glad you enjoyed it ^^

We tried to take a more creative twist on the theme of “Lost & Found” by exploring Evil “losing” herself, running away from the family, trying to keep them away from her, but Neuro + Vedal eventually succeeding in physically “finding” her in the end and Evil “finding” her place in the family. ❤️

The relation the game has to the theme is that it’s a metaphorical journey of self-discovery for Evil and a physical quest for Vedal and Neuro!
