Really impressive map size with all the little details. The minimalist sound and visuals add a lot to the atmosphere, and meeting with FILTERED the first time is actually terrifying. Discovering that there’s a map helped a lot, unfortunately I got stuck in a door later. Had fun!

Developer

Thank you for the review! Door frame and cave are greatest offenders in terms of getting stuck (added both 3 hours before deadline). Glad you had fun! c;

Really atmospheric horror game, Evil Abber Demon actually scared me.

Developer

Thank you for the review. Glad you liked it C;

The ambience and sound effects in this game are amazing, and the map is very detailed and massive. Enjoyed it a lot, I really hope Vedal plays this on Stream so he may bless us with his screams

Developer(+1)

Thanks for kind words! Ambience could be improved on with random laughs and screams in the distance and maybe wind though. Map will also couple of random rocks. I'm gonna fix and improve the game after gamejam. It would be funny to see Vedal play it. C:

Got a bit lost.. which was my own fault for not realizing there was a map, oops.

You pulled off building a distinct large-scale map in such a short time, impressive!

Developer

Thanks for the review! Players getting lost are also kinda my fault, because I didn't make paths and signs in time. Glad you liked it! c;

This game is so terrifying but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The first time I got jumpscared I was so scared.

Great work!

Pretty cool style!

Did I go deaf? Yes. Did I also shit myself? Also yes

Gg!

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Thank you for the review! Sorry about making you deaf ;d Wanted to implement volume settings, but typically I didn't make it in time. Glad you liked it. c:

The visual style is astounding! Can’t believe this has been made in three days :O

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

Thank you very much for such nice words c; This style is actually not that hard to pull off. What I did is simply lower game resolution in Godot settings and stretch game to fullscreen d; Glad you liked it!

Nice visual style, the maniacal laughter really induce frantic fear.

I like that the map doesn't tell your exact location, and I have to tell where I am from the surroundings.

Thanks for the review and I'm glad you liked it! c:

The world is very large and without a "you are here" mark on the map or even a compass I ended up getting lost immediately after leaving the forest. I did try to skyrim myself up a mountain but it didn't go too well. :P

It does a good job evoking the vibe of indie horror games like the slender man. Evil's screams fit the atmosphere perfectly.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the review! Yeah, the world is kinda empty, I planned to add paths and more things such as rocks, but sadly I didn't make it in time. Might do it after game jam ends.

Nice game! I really like the atmosphere you've created. The sfx and animations make evil truly terrifying.

Thank you for playing! <3

Sadly i have to admit, i didn't manage to beat the game, but i must say, i really appreciate some of the things you did. The sounds design is very well put together, the screeches and distressing, jingles are startling, footsteps are footsteppy, although i would've liked some more ambient sounds (like wind blowing or something), but that's not that necessary, as silence itself is quite eery.

The atmosphere is also worthy of a horror title, i especially appreciated the weird pixely thing you did with the skybox, as it gave a somewhat unique feel to the game.

The parkour part was a fun addition, but holy moly that maze is just straight up evil, waay too big in my opinion, but it did do a good job inflicting anxiety upon me.

The bugs are the biggest flaw in my opinion, but that's nothing a little polishing can't fix up!

Very nice work!

*Bonus pic of bugged out evil (she's stuck)*

Thank you very much for the review! Yeah, if game jam was one day longer, I would be able polish a lot of it, but it is, what it is. In terms of maze then I can tell you it was even more complicated before and I changed it to be a little bit easier XD. I planned it so you could find map for it, but I didn't have time to do this sadly. Happy you enjoyed my game.

btw this is solution to maze, if anybody would need it.

P.S. Maze layout done using https://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/maze

Known bugs:

- if [REDACTED] is chasing you and can't reach you, on example if you go into cave or on pier, framerate massively drops. You can either wait and get away from [REDACTED] as fast as possible or you have to restart by ESC->MainMenu.

- you can sometimes get stuck in abandoned cottage, if you can't free yourself, ESC->MainMenu.

- you can get stuck in cave between snow and stone so it is advised to jump there

- for some reason, after getting hit and getting camera shake, camera may not revert to default state and will remain tilted
