Your game is very similar to mine in a lot of ways. Like mine it lacks polishing too, principally a tutorial. Principally your game neeeding understanding about card games to play aparently(thing that i don't have). I see you used some kind of API without editor(i did this too with Monogame), maybe this is the major cause for the raw state of your game(at last for me it was like this). You should try to re-do this with a more pratical engine, it really looks like something that would be good to play with better presenting.

To be honest, I don't like "game engines". I think they're a waste of time. If you invest your time learning an actual programming language you got a real skill AND you can make games just as quickly as anybody else.
Also, I  see a lot of people asking for a tutorial. I donno, I think that's a bit too much to ask for in a 48 hour game jam. And more importantly, I did this for fun, so I want to spend my time programming gameplay, designing maps, you know, the fun stuff. And I find that most people who come to play gamejam games are pretty tolerant of stuff like this.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll check your game out!

I like your way of thinking. Me too like using pure code tools(Monogame in my case). But im not doing this in game jams again ahauahauahaauahauahauaajau.

I don't think I ever player a game jam game this much, it's really great! Just add some sounds and some more explanation and you're good to go

Love those blackjack battles! Impressive that it is made without any game engine. On thing, I broke the game by going down on the forest before the lake with the fairies. There is a small passage with grass and makes you enter in a loop. Great game!

The gameplay itself is implemented well, talking to people to battle them in blackjack works great! The game could definitely use a tutorial, it's hard to tell what needs to be done.
Also, it was strange that I could continue "battling" people once I already defeated them. Maybe switching their sprite to a "defeated" sprite would work for clarity after they've been defeated.
But overall, it looked and felt good! Nice work!

This would be a very good game if you explained a bit more what you have to do. In the beginning i didnt even know how to interact and had to read it in the game description. I also had to figure out what the goal of the game is. For example: I got the blue key from the guy on the right and went into the place he was guarding. In there it didnt seem like i could interact with anything. Give the player some direction so that it isnt that confusing. Otherwise the blackjack the idea of betting what you got from others is a great idea.
