I didnt whant to find other keys like "A and C" for left and right. So i scrapped that idea completly and made a two button movement system. C to change direction and Space to jump. Sadly i didnt't pring enough chaos onto the maps. With Controlls as inprecise as mine where that was a pain. I wish i did more on the generall theme. But still. This was my first game ever finished and it was a lot of fun thanks.

This game reminds me of VVVVVV, cool idea, paralax scrolling background was a really nice touch. Game difficulty was a little bit off tho.

This game is so freaking hard! I died countless times... As the first game it's impressive, great work!

Well done game.  It was destructively hard.  Here is my playthrough:

Oh wow cool yea a lot of people thought this is to hard. And i have to agree. I got the hang of it myself but well... I played that a lot while testing.

But seeing you go through the start made me realize how strange i set upsome stuff is. Thank you very much for trying so hard.

The game is really fun and challenging, I love how the game works really well with just two keys and the levels are also designed pretty nicely. Congrats, dont let this game be your last one!

Good job on your first game! I like the hidden concept of timing is everything. Your pixel art is great too!

For your first ever game, its amazing, most people's first game is garbage, but yours, its great!

Developer(+1)

thanks a lot :). i had decent programming experience so and some knowledge of art.
also i did some tutorials before the jam. So i was not completly lost.

I am realy proud of it and it was a lot of fun. Will be at the next jam too :)

Again, thanks for your kind words. Means a lot and helps to stay motivated

Amazing how conditioned I am to using different keys for directions.  Between the continuous movement (including reversing off walls) and the single key to switch directions, my brain was really confused.  Great job, though!  Feels pretty solid.

Hey! Really cool game, its so hard! Making a minimal button control game was a good idea with the limitation. Visuals are reeeeeally nice, I really like the pixel art!

Levels 1-6 were designed really nicely and felt really rewarding, they were smooth and really felt like they were designed around the change direction mechanic of the game.

I couldn't beat level 7, the jump and turn mechanic really felt like it was me vs the game controls instead of me vs the game, which was a little infuriating.

Developer

thank you for the detailed reply :)

Yea i have to agree it is to hard. a lot of people told me now already. I guess its easy to loose yourself in your own project. I have played this game for testing serveral hours when i designed the later levels. And i forgot the new player expirience.

But i am realy glad you played it so far. Thank you

really nice game, I like how the use of the keys in the critic moment to change direction or jump works, but, I think the 'c' could be the x because the rules of jam dont mention the key c, but, I like so much your game, 5 stars for you ;)

Developer

thank you very much. yea i already noticed i switched the X for the C ... was a  mistake on my part.

Thank you for the kind words. Meens a lot

This was fun. I had a hard time getting past some of the blocks with the timing and whatnot. Nice job at finishing the game!

Thanks for playing :) yea my friends told me it is too hard :D

honestly i played it over and over again on the weekend. i didn't think about how this might feel to a new player until i was far to deep in :D

wow thanks for the kind words :) means a lot. yea i guess i will make a small update tomorrow where i fix the controll from C to X and change the camera to a smooth setting. lets see how that goes :D Again thank you

Submitted(+1)

I really enjoyed your game but the only thing I wish if you can fix it is the camera, the player is always in the center of it, if you can smooth its movement it will be a very very good game.

Developer(+1)

oh yea i will try that. Godot makes that very easy so it will be in a future update i guess :)

Congrats on finishing your first game. Nice design, fun gameplay. :)
