This game has potential to be a comedic kind of game, like a parody of space and endless runners. The jumping was the weirdest aspect, as it completely stops the momentum of the increasing run speeds. The double jump is nice to have, though it makes all the platforming pretty straightforward. Having the stick of doom removes the need to think about timing attacks, but it lends itself as another joke a funny game like this would have. The audio did make me chuckle for its novelty.

Keep up the good work!

10/10 Best game so far! HAha!

On a more serious note, while the game is quite ugly and the game-play is very basic at its core, I honestly LOVE it! While basic, it has so much charm, the sound effects very much steals the show, love the damage sound and bonus points for that end dialog. Even the game-play is surprisingly deep, with the player gaining a ungodly amount of speed if you stand still and then breaking completely if you jump, and with the laser being so short you kind of have to time when to shoot the enemy to not miss, or  jump over them but lose speed. It all becomes a challenge to try and keep momentum for as long as you can, while racing to the goal. With all this the art really fits, as it has a very "doodle" look to it.

If there is anything is that its a bit short, and I think with the art being as it is, you could had more objects in the world drawn other then just the alien. Also think a cool-down of the laser would be a good choice, as right now you can just hold the shoot-button down to have a stick-of-doom in-front of you at all times.

Great work!

Thanks for the review, I was going to have a cooldown but I liked the sound effect so much I thought people wouldn't hold it down in order to hear the sound effect.  If I had a time limit it might add an extra interesting mechanic.  Overall I enjoyed making the game and it was an interesting challenge to only use mouse input.

I really like the monster sprite. The rest of the minimalist artwork takes some getting used to.

I liked that it feels like a complete game, with a various scenes/pages (credits, instructions, restart, etc.)

Took me a minute to guess that I should attack the column of light, which looks kinda like an exit.

Developer

I actually completely forgot you could shoot it.  You are supposed to jump on the spaceship and avoid the light.

That's an interesting jump mechanic you have there. It slows the running speed down and can be done around 3 times (feels like a jet pack is a bonus, it feels good, imho). Like, beside avoiding obstacles and enemies, jump can be used to slow down running speed too. It's a creative take, imho.

Happy you enjoyed it. Was a happy accident with how it behaved with the constant force physics in Unity

I love the monster cries. Very cool.
