Good mechanics, it's kind of easy to play yet simultaneously hard. Nice basic dark atmosphere. I don't really see this fits the theme or limitation of the game jam though. Otherwise, the game is perhaps too hard for me personally and I don't see a purpose, like why am I doing this? Maybe having some tasks in the game would help. I didn't play very long so maybe the game has something else in it too. Pretty much a ready game with the basic elements, and good intensive sounds too.

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I appreciate your insights on the game's mechanics and atmosphere. Your points about the theme and objectives make sense—I'll definitely consider exploring further to uncover more layers. It's encouraging to hear that you find the game promising overall. Thanks again!
I like the SFX, music, and graphics! The gameplay is pretty good too, I like the wave-based gameplay. The game starts getting really laggy once a bunch of bullets are on-screen, I wish there was a download version so It didn't lag like that. Overall it's really good though!
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the game, especially the SFX, music, and graphics! The wave-based gameplay seems to be working well for you too. It's unfortunate that the performance starts to lag when there are many bullets on-screen; having a downloadable version could potentially alleviate that issue. Your feedback is valuable for the developers to consider optimizing the game further. Overall, I'm glad you find it really good despite the lag issue. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
You should add better upgrades if you have time. It's also really fun, and the robots have good animations, but different kinds of robots would be more fun.
It's great to hear that you're having fun with the game! Your suggestions for adding better upgrades and introducing different kinds of robots are fantastic ideas to enhance the gameplay experience. More variety in upgrades and enemy types can definitely add depth and excitement. Thanks for the feedback—it's valuable for improving the game!
Nice entry, the game felt very satisfying to play, and I just found myself playing again and again! Awesome work!
Great game. I really like the art direction and I also though the gameplay was paced really well. Having the darkness be the thing that forces you into using resources was creative. I wish I could add juice to my games like this. It looks both awesome and really creepy. The music was good, but I did find it really jarring how it restarts every time you pass a level, though that might just be a bug. I also thought that there should be more of a reward for collecting the energy canisters. Maybe they could regenerate your health, because at the moment taking damage is really punishing. Also, one Godot dev to another: when the gun turns like this, offset the sprite a little from a parent node and have the parent rotate, which will make it look the the gun is being held out instead of rotated inside the player's torso. Overall, though, a really successful action/horror blend in pixel art with a nice gameplay loop.
It sounds like you had a detailed and positive experience with the game! The art direction and gameplay pacing stood out to you, which is great to hear. Using darkness as a resource mechanic is indeed a creative touch. Your feedback about adding "juice" to your own games like this one is understandable; the atmosphere created seems both awesome and creepy.
Regarding the music, the restarting issue after passing levels might be a bug worth addressing. Your suggestion about making energy canisters regenerate health could provide a more rewarding gameplay experience, especially considering the current harsh penalty for taking damage.
Lastly, your tip from one Godot developer to another about offsetting the gun sprite to simulate holding it out is a nice touch for immersion.
Overall, it sounds like you found the game to be a successful action/horror blend with pixel art, offering a satisfying gameplay loop. Thanks for sharing your insights and suggestions!
I liked the game a lot but I died at level 6 and there was a reluctance to start from level 1. I think there are two ways to solve this problem. Collectible health or starting not from the first level when you die, but for example 3 levels before the level you died. These are of course my ideas. The game is still very fun. Congratulations.
It sounds like you've had a good experience overall with the game, despite the setback of dying at level 6. Your suggestions for improving the game experience with collectible health items or implementing a checkpoint system that starts you a few levels before where you died are thoughtful ideas. It's great to hear that you find the game enjoyable overall. Congratulations to the developers for creating such a fun game!
The flashlight feature is cool! Definitely would work great in a survival horror game! The game itself is great, You know what to do from the get go
wow! the music blew me away when the game started...loved it! ....the graphics are also cool ...loved to play the game ...great job!
Incredibly juicy, it looks and sounds great and feels really nice to play!
I like how you used the darkness effect + infinite enemy range to drive up the tension. It’s interesting that it really feels like a “complex” bullet hell despite all bullets spawning at near random positions.
Batteries are sadly extremely random. On my first playthrough I got to like, level 5 and found no batteries since wave 1. From my observations they seem to despawn after some time and, combined with darkness, are really hard to find. And even once you find them ,the extended vision doesn’t seem that much helpful. Would be cooler to get something else, maybe a super attack to destroy enemies effectively, since they have so much health.
Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you appreciate the tension created by the darkness effect and infinite enemy range, as well as the complex bullet hell experience despite the randomness of bullet spawns.
We hear your concerns about the batteries being too random and difficult to find, especially with the darkness effect. We'll look into adjusting their spawn mechanics to make them more consistent and impactful. Your suggestion for a super attack as an alternative reward is interesting and something we'll consider for improving gameplay balance, especially against enemies with high health.
Your insights are valuable to us as we continue to refine the game. Thanks again for playing and sharing your thoughts!
the gun sound's a bit annoying, the game gets boring after level 2 because there's no new content or anything, and i feel like the enemies have way too much health. If you're gonna make them that buff atleast make it so you can hold down the mouse button to shoot instead of having to click so much. The music sounded pretty cool but the fact that it resets after every level is very annoying, and the battery thing felt like it was just there.. it doesn't really help you much in battle and it lasts so long you might as well just have permanent good vision. the art by itself looks pretty good but i feel like none of it really matches very well, the style for the weapon, enemy, player and battery all look very different.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We appreciate your insights on the gun sound, level progression, enemy health, and shooting mechanics. We'll take your suggestions into consideration for future updates, especially regarding the ability to hold down the mouse button for continuous shooting.
Regarding the music resetting and the battery mechanic, we understand your frustration. We'll explore ways to improve these aspects to enhance the gameplay experience.
As for the art style, we acknowledge your feedback about the visual coherence between different elements. We'll work on ensuring a more unified and cohesive art direction moving forward.
Your input is valuable to us, and we're committed to improving the game based on your feedback. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
The music in the game is certainly very cool, together with the graphics and atmosphere it reminds me of the Terminator movie. I was only able to progress to level 4.
Nice darkness mechanic, very well made, polished. Excellent overall.
The only small issue I see is gun sound being slightly annoying.
Good job!
Finally a game im good at!. i had fun playing this game overall its nicely polished.
Games looks polished and good.
It is interesting to being able to shoot and destroy enemy bullets with your own bullet. It would be interesting to have some mechanic where you can redirect enemy bullets with your own bullet.
And enemies have much health. I would be good to be able to shoot while holding down mouse button.
Overall I liked the game.
It's a neat little shooter with the darkness twist, challenging and pretty on the graphical side!
