Software used
Unity 2022, Visual Studio 2019, Clip Studio

Use of the limitation
The player has to navigate the play area, using the limited time and resource as best as possible to ensure getting to all the stars. Especially the last few stars require near perfect usage of time/resource.

Cookies eaten
Ive had like 1.5 bags of chips. If I had to count individually. Id say like 100-200?

Lovely cozy game. First it didn't feel like that so much when I ran out of time too fast, because I didn't realize the time gets upped when you lit a star. But after realizing that the game became more interesting and having difficulties to find a star in time was interesting, although it's slightly annoying since you can't see everything at once (but it's ok feature still, if it's a feature). And I'm not sure if pressing E should be needed... surely if you fly very fast (it's great to have fast movement too, that's nice) it's fun to add some synchronizing efforts too, it's great if you "hit" something just the right time. Overall I feel it is still missing something but I don't quite know what... maybe it's how there are nice bling sounds and all but you don't get "peaks" or some feel of ending or winning. I don't have any suggestions though.

I appreciate every comment and every suggestion and ideas given by others that I can learn from ^^

For a second game ever you did great looks fantastic and plays smooth, great job

Kudos for the whimsical concept! I like the mood of this game. The camera thing was a bit frustrating as others have said, but the game was enjoyable. Good job!

And keep making games!

Really nice art direction and the game works well. Congrats!

the art and concept are neat but the gameplay is quite rough. the player moving faster than the camera made finding stars frustrating. i hope you'll keep making more games!

I like the style, but the gameplay just feels bad… The player controls are janky, and I just cannot get past than 2 stars. For your second game ever, the game is suprisingly high quality, only if the concept was better.

A few minutes ago I updated the game a bit regarding the feedback on the stars, because it clearly was a lack of me trying to view the game from someone who didnt spent hours on making it.

I hope my next games will feature better gameplay.

(The Web build is the new one, with the download for the first version still being available)

WHoa, I just played the new version and I had a blast, so cool that you respond to feedback in such little time!! Keep up the good work!!!! I’ll also edit my rating along with this, because this update changes things a lot

Im glad this made the game feel a lot better to play.
The big part of the first build was that the stars had 20 seconds where nothing happened, now you have 10 seconds between 2 stars spawning which should result in almost no time spent finding no star unless youre in the wrong spot ^^

Sometimes it find a star, sometimes you don't, sometimes a star finds you :) I didn't really feel in control while playing.

I like how the game looks, it feels like a nebula, background is beautiful and there trails and particles.

Great visuals, I couldn't get past 2 stars I think maybe just increasing the spawn frequency would help. I'd love to be able to go around really fast lighting starts everywhere to keep the momentum. Well done!

Developer(+1)

yup, just made that change. The web version and the 1.1 download feature it while the 1.0 download is still the original game jam submission

Nice much better now imo!

Great art style altho the start fade takes  a little too long to finish, and a bit confused on what to do :)

Not really sure what I was supposed to be doing, I had multiple runs where I zoomed around hitting 'e' as fast as possible but nothing appeared and one where I got to 8 stars because I kept finding one just before time ran out, but I have no idea what I did differently there.

It's looks really pretty and has a great vibe but I just felt like I was missing something.

Thank you so much for the feedback.

Yea I think the best way to fix it would be spawning the stars more frequently, currently a star spawns every 20 seconds (which is pretty much whenever your light hits around 10

Making it more frequent would enable the player to find more of em with a shorter down time of nothing happening.

I guess me having done art for over 10 years and just starting out as a Game Dev really shows in how theres more focus on Visuals over Gameplay haha.
