Nice game, smooth gameplay and good visuals. Refiling feels like a chore tho :v

gotta protect lil bro.

Really like the gameplay. The art is not my cup of tea but the gamplay is 10/10

Quite tricky to add the lighter fluid while keeping the hands at bay, specially since you can't see what's happening while the menu is up. Really unique concept though!

Love the concept, I managed to get to 1 minute left and then I couldn't get the clicks on the lighter menu to register properly so ran out of fuel. I think given that the gameplay doesn't change in any way as time goes on, five minutes is a pretty long amount of time to play, especially in a jam.

I would've made it quite a bit shorter, so people playing can experience winning, or at least if they lose they're more likely to give it another go. If you unlocked more abilities or the enemies changed in some ways, I think it could justify the longer play time, but right now it seems to be just a battle of attrition, nothing really ramps up.

Great entry otherwise, just a few tweaks could make it even better!

Developer

Yeah, I can definitely see how it could get repetitive after 5 minutes. after the jam I'm planning on shortening the "story" mode and adding two difficulties, and then I might work on a new mechanic I'm thinking candle types with different monster hands per candle

cool game man

It's a really nice game.

Simple but fun. A mini game about refueling adds a nice touch and makes the game feel less repetitive.

My only criticism is that you probably should have ordered the player to be on top of other things like candles visually.

I had fun playing! Bonus points for the tutorial which made the concept very clear. Nicely executed idea and well polished game!

Submitted

I like it, but it does start to get a bit repetitive after a while. Fun concept though!

I like it. Good concept, execution. Quite frantic but fun. It does feel like the difficulty spikes quite a bit in the last minute but overall I enjoyed it.

Developer

after the jam ill tone down the difficulty and might add in a hard mode!

Such simplistic gameplay and yet quite fun! I like the crunchy sound effects. I felt that the timer was a little long as it can start to get a bit repetitive, but still enjoyed it. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! after the jam's done, I might go in and bring the time down to 3 minutes and change up the difficulty curve
