Good job! I think the graphics and the game are overall fun but I had troubles finding where to draw cards initially. Maybe the deck could be sort of a backpack thing? So you don’t need to stay close to it but can freely move and shoot cards :)

I originally had the idea of being able to drag it around the level but didn't implement it, however being able to put it on your shoulder and maybe put it down when you need to fish seems like a great idea.

Sorry, I cannot start the app, when downloading and running the defender takes care and removes the “unsafe” unity dlls. In general running Unity App work when I install with the itch.io app - your app cannot be installed inside the itch app

Developer

I didn't know itch.io could be installed as an app. I tried downloading it in this mode and I can still run the game. You probably have some defender setting that protects you from certain types of files. You should try changing those settings if you want to try to play the game, also because I have seen that more than half of the jam games have the same format and file types. Thanks for the report.

3D environment was sweet, and I really like the concept, I think a few good additions would be able to rotate your view so you can peek around corners a bit more freely, and possibly have some sort of cost to drawing cards. I kinda just started spamming the E button near the base until I happened to draw a card that matched the incoming one haha.

Either way, great job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. Yes the card tornado with E spam is an exploit that absolutely needs to be fixed.

Good Idea, as others have said this require either luck manipulation, or a non pairs only inflicts lesser damage for exemple. Good job on the overall visuals

Thank you very much, knowing that I am improving even a little bit in the graphics component makes me very happy. I will look for a way to balance the difficulty.

I really like the 3d modeling and environment. It was a bit confusing at first but then I understood how to win! It was a bit tedious to get the correct card by drawing and throwing lots of times until it popped up.. Maybe a system where there is always a matching card in your hand that you just have to choose would make it more fun? But then it might make it too easy

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I will think hard about how to balance the mechanics.

It took me a little while to understand the objective of the game, but once I understood it, I was able to win the first try!
I really like the Tower defense aspect of the game and if this improves further, i could be an interesting game

Just a couple of observations
I didn't get the Jam Theme, wich is 'Shopping'
And as others mentioned, i think the best strategy is to stay close to the deck and spam E + Clic

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! The theme is optional but the limitation (Card as a mechanic) instead is a must.

Lovely card game. I really enjoyed the cute hand animations and nice graphics. The surreal environment is right on with the limitation. I understood the game objective quite quickly, and won the game twice. I enjoyed the main game mechanic but do thing there could be some improvements.

The game is very hard to play if you try to play by matching cards together as I did at the start, instead I found that by camping the main deck and spamming E + left mouse to quickly draw and fire each card, that was the easiest way to win, and even then, RNG sometimes made it very close to a card almost arriving the deck. I think it would be interesting to either make it more puzzle like by making sure cards spawn in such a way that you can match them with that you draw close to the top of the deck and if the deck ran out/ only had 52 cards like the normal deck.
I also think it could be cool to

I liked the Monocycle pun on the playing cards deck and also the cool sparkle on the start screen. Overall for a gamejam, great success :)

Thanks for the feedback, I also think that going in the direction of the puzzle game may be the best solution. For the exploit I think adding a minimum of cooldown to the drawing of cards and their throwing can solve it, however maybe there are better ways. I think as I progress in the design solutions will pop up spontaneously.
