Very cool game with unusual and interesting gameplay, I like it!

This is fun game , I am still training the hero lol.

Quite fun to play and explore the different tiles. But I am not sure if you can beat the boss, because every time I encounter him my health is set to 6/20 even though I leave the dungeon with full health. Also sometimes one of the stats can't be increased at all like the defense stat here even after maximizing the others.

Very enjoyable and well made game overall. Really nice work putting this together. Would definitely give it another try if the small bugs are fixed.

Yeahh... lack of play testing got the better of me, but thanks for playing!

Also if your wondering the demon lords stats are:

vitality  - 8

attack - 8

defense - 8

speed - 8

but not intelligence (enemies don't have this stat)

"technically" the boss is beatable with sheer luck, but judging it now i made it too hard, even if you don't include all the bugs. In the future versions it will be easier, but not by much.

Also the reason for the unupgradable stats is probably because i made the upgrade system semi-luck based, not the smartest design choice now looking at it, i will also revamp this in future versions.

How rarely there are games that are interesting to play here, the top is filled with boring and unprincipled games with a beautiful picture. I hope your game will be in the top 20 at least, but the only thing I did not understand is exactly how the THEME of the jam is revealed

Developer

Thanks for the high praise, and well i guess its my fault i didn't really make it that clear with the theme,  in short you fuse rooms together the create new ones, but i guess you could also call it combining or upgrading, a little play on words if you will.

Okay that was pretty funny experience, but in the middle of the finding cheat basement that'll help me winning all the times, I've encountered with really weird bug that just remove my ability to place tiles except the exit. It's  connected with treasure chest tile, I believe. Because that's happened when I spam like 10 treasure chest in one dungeon and then a weak trap.

Developer

Yeaaah... i'm aware of this bug and have already fixed it in the post-jam version, it occurs almost every time you spend a long enough time in the game,  and occurs faster the more exits you place.

all because i forgot to add a single line of code.

Amazing combination of limitation and theme, game would be perfect if it had some animations and descriptions to the tiles (what they are doing, enemies and what stats of hero increase).

Great game overall.

I have played more of this game than I really should have, but the idea and the execution are really fun.

if I have something to say is that I missed the ability to remove missplaced tiles, but the aspect of learning through mixing and sometimes missplaying might get lost if removing is too easy, so maybe only a limited amount would be nice.

Also, it might just be me, but the hero feels a bit weak at the start, being able to lose to the first monster if you are unlucky doesn't feel very interactive and lead me to try and highroll a defense chest early on most of the times.

But even so, it was a VERY fun game to play and mess around with. If you plan on working in this, I'll have to keep an eye on here

Unusual realisation! But at first i couldnt understand what to do xd.

I love this concept, it is genuinely the best I've seen in the entire jam and beats out just about any triple A game I've seen.

It's a bit rough around the edges and I will give a few points of criticism, but just know I love this game and you did a great job.

Firstly, overall UI improvements would be nice. A description for the tiles, highlight the one you pick and add a sound effect, let you remove or move around tiles you placed, and so on.

Secondly, a speed up button of some kind would be amazing. The knight moves a bit slow and there's a long pause between hits in combat.

And lastly, a bit more of a tutorial, or even more gameplay to get used to things a bit more. I'm still not 100% sure what all of the stats do or what exactly some of the tiles do.

As I said at the start though, amazing game. The concept is the best I've seen in this jam, by far. It's got great art and music too.

Edit: I realize now you can override tiles and there is a sound effect when you click, I'm just an idiot XD

Edit 2: Oh, and there are descriptions for the tiles too... I'm very blind wow, I didn't spend enough time on the game before I made this review whoops

Haha thanks, I will probably add a separate guide containing all the niche things everything does.

EDIT: As a temporary solution that is.

Loved the art. The concept of the dungeon maker's point of view was really interesting. Enjoyed

Such a nice and interesting concept! Felt the game pace a lil' bit slow, so maybe an update with a 2x time would be nice after the jam.

Also really liked the aesthetic! Nice work!
