Even though our games share the same genre, they sit quite on the opposite side of the spectrum. Yours is fast paced, dark, hard & unforgining. I like your take on it. Wish I could survive a little longer to see more of the great graphics. Luckily your screenshots show a lot of them, your artist(s?) did really well!
the game would be significantly more playable if it used scancodes instead of keycodes, or if arrow-keys were allowed for movement, or if it had controller support at all, so that i could play without having to reach all the way across the keyboard to reach your chosen movement keys
aside from the playability issues, the game looks pretty great. i’d definitely look into touching up the fonts used on the continue/quit buttons, but yeah it’s nice
I love this game! Amazing choice of tools too! Feels really good playing it and the team got a lot done over the 3 days. Great work and it felt like a fully completed game. Made me think of the old days.
Woah, everything in this game is truly exceptional for a jam game! Art, sound, and gameplay are all polished to the moon, and everything just comes together so nicely! Only complaint I have would be that I'd like some sort of indicator for when you take damage, so that I'm able to tell without looking at the healthbar. Other than that, the game is tough, but fair, and definitely possible with enough time. Congratulations to everybody on the team for working together to make something so epic!
Very very polised! The art is absolutely beautiful and i enjoyed blowing up the enemies over and over, Sadly i didnt manage to get very far, but from what i played this game has a TON of potential post-jam!
This game looks stunning! The visuals are amazing, and the visual contrast between bullets, Reaper, and enemies helps with navigating the Reaper!
Admittedly - and this might just be me - I felt like the game was a bit difficult. I struggled to stay alive to charge the special attack bar, which I only managed to pull off once. Sometimes I also wasn't sure whether I could avoid shooting an enemy (and therefore avoiding their revenge bullets) since some enemy types seemed to have different movement patterns.
Still, this game was very enjoyable, the brief intro at the beginning alongside the visuals and sound did make it quite immersive!
Hi, thanks for the feedback! The game is pretty difficult, so we are working on some plans for making it a bit fairer in the future :)
Just to clarify the enemy movement patterns, they were drawn manually by the level designers in Godot, so they do not depend on the type of enemy. Also, revenge bullet patterns are determined by the type of weapon the player is using
This game is really amazing, the core mechanic perfectly fits the limitation, and the art is truly beautiful. The game is super fun to play, though I think the difficulty might be a bit high, I'm not great at these kinds of games so I'm not totally sure. Very well-made game!
